Attorney in Texas. Former Conservative Republican. Realized that the GOP had become a Chri$toFa$ci$t organization. Trickle down doesn't work. Particularly when the crumbs that trickle down are then picked back up in the form of a bailout. The Constitution doesn't mention "capitalism." It mentions liberty and freedom. The GOP has somehow decided that the only thing that matters is a Crony-centered form of Capitalism, but decided to call the US a "Christian" nation (in violation of the First Amendment), eliminated the right to privacy (in violation of the Declaration of Independence), sacrifice liberty for "security" (in violation of both), and to socialize losses and privatize profits. In their war against homosexuals, non-Christians, and minorities, I can no longer call myself a "Republican" or a "Conservative." Wall Street took priority over Main Street. And the Bush/Paulson administration has become the most corrupt and wicked in American history.
UPDATE: As of 12/17/09, everything said above that was ascribed to the Republican Party must also be ascribed to career Democrats. Or to anyone of any party whose first loyalty is to the Lobbyist and Corporate Sponsor of that lobbyist. A year after the 2008 election, and I see that very little has changed. Mainly window dressing.
