Going On Dates With God: Not Your Typical Three-Way

"But, as a Christian, I think the biggest question is: Would I give up Christmas?"

As a Christian, your biggest concern is ongoing participating in an annual consumer orgy the deranged excesses of which would shame the most decadent ancient Roman? Your identity as a Christian centers around "What would Santa Jesus buy?" Well, I applaud your honesty, which is certainly refreshing during the nauseating religious duplicity of an election year..

The innate hypocrisy and lunacy of religion never ceases to fascinate and appall. Being somehow exempt from this particular form of mental illness, sometimes I do long for a loquacious serpent, talking bush, or transcendental thunderbolt to make it all clear to me. posted 04/30/2008 at 16:18:18

A Polyamorous Couple Makes Their Case (VIDEO)

The self involved vanity and pretension of straight people never ceases to amaze, stun, and bore. It's apparently insufficient for such individuals to simply conduct their relationships to suit themselves and their associates. Instead, social hostility toward anything other than the default bourgeois straitjacket is so intense that people feel compelled to lay claim to some institution or other to justify and protect themselves.

"Marriage," "monogamy," "polyamory," "heterosexuality," "polygamy..." These institutions all seen as competing destinations to be embraced or condemned, rather than a just a variety of scenery along the way. Worse, they're all used to divert discussion from real issues like "honesty," "tolerance," "compassion," and yes, "diversity." posted 04/30/2008 at 16:06:34

Pope: I Am "Deeply Ashamed" Over Clergy Sex Abuse

"We will absolutely exclude pedophiles from the sacred ministry..."

The use of euphemisms like "pedophile" when discussing the torture and rape of children disinclines me to believe that the Church will even acknowledge the monstrousness of the problem, much less actually do much about it. This is simply PR spin, now that millions of dollars in hush money has failed to silence the victims.

As for "absolutely exclude," what good will yet another witch hunt do, given that the structure of the Catholic Church's ministry is guaranteed to twist and derange sexuality, and has done so successfully for hundreds of years? Enforced chastity is in and of itself a perversion, from which the Church continues to derive incalculable benefits.

That Catholic Church is intrinsically destructive. It has a long history of terribly crimes against humanity, and these are not the fault of a few errant individuals. They are the fault of the twisted, corrupt principles of the institution itself.

The shame here belongs to Catholics who continue to participate in and support a thousand-year history of atrocities that continue to this day. posted 04/15/2008 at 16:09:08

Vatican: Pope Will Speak on Abuse Crisis

I am appalled... "...so much suffering for the victims¦ and above all to the church." To state that the church has suffered more than the victims is as inaccurate as it is obscene.

The Catholic church has no orifices to violate, no flesh to agonize, no trust to betray, and no dignity to destroy. I unfortunately can't say the same, but what I can say is that I will not forgive, and more importantly, will not forgive. This sort of grotesque spin control is exactly what we should expect from an institution that has actively supported the rape and torture of children for hundreds of years, and more recently, paid millions of dollars in hush money trying to conceal the truth: expect, but not tolerate.

The tax exempt status of churches was granted on the assumption that they benefit society. That assumption having proved false, the appropriate action is obvious. posted 04/09/2008 at 01:05:29

Would You Wear the "I Was Raped" Tee?

I'll wear one if only to challenge the assumption that all rape victims are women, but I think I'd like mine to be a bit more specific: "I was raped by a Catholic priest." posted 04/08/2008 at 02:49:59

Why Flirting Doesn't Work

I'm profoundly weary of listening to heterosexuals whine about the egregious incompatibilities of men and women and how godawful miserable it is to be straight. (Then again, at least it explains why they so often insists everyone be just like them: misery loves company.) I'm all for personal freedom, but I worry about the effect this painfully unhappy lifestyle has on children. posted 04/01/2008 at 00:27:30

Whipped: What To Do When It Happens To You

Women are never referred to as "penis whipped." Of course in heterosexual relationships, that's the status status quo for women - one of many reasons why this is such a sad, destructive lifestyle choice. Heterosexuality is at its core based on the fear and persecution of difference and the inability of men and women to enjoy intimate relationships is anything but surprising. The misery and destructiveness of people who persist in choosing such behavior is inevitable. posted 03/24/2008 at 19:39:19
