Just Work: This is What a Union Victory Looks Like

I'm curious, really. Has homeland security, or what ever it is called now, reared it's ugly head during this whole process? Is there a chance they could say this job has become a matter of national security? I do know this has been done very quitely before.

I do hope this isn't the case and good luck! I'm a firm believer it is going to take strong unions to take working families out of poverty! posted 04/18/2008 at 07:52:45

The Curse Of The Eternally Urgent

Actually the "high" is the high drama they can't live without. Many of the "eternal urgent" types are that way because they like it. They wouldn't know what to do with a little order and tranquility other than turn into shit stirrers to make some drama. And this high drama life does cover the full spectrum of their life. All in the neighborhood is quiet and getting along? Let's get on the horn and cause a little drama usually some affair kind of gossip will do it and spead like wild flower. I know quite a few high drama types. I really don't know why but I can say that I just know them. It's hard to be even a causual friend with these types because yes the earth does spin on it's axis just for them. The type can be of great entertainment value if you're in the mood to just sit back and watch them self destruct. posted 04/15/2008 at 01:16:26

Is Hillary Or Barack More Faithful To Their Religious Principles?

And another thing, how was it decided who was allowed in the 'faith based" audience and what was the make up of the audience? Was there some kind of test they had to pass to show how "faithful" they really are? Was there a "turning water into wine" competition? How about healing some of the vets coming back from Iraq? I'd think that would be a shoe-in! Plus might even give them some real brownie points with their deity of choice and fix some of the atrocities of the "faithful" thing that is now taking up space in the oval office. posted 04/14/2008 at 08:01:07

More From America's Worst Mom: 9-Year-Old On The Subway, Continued

I also wondered how many of these self-rightous indiginate mothers hire domestic workers? Do they expect these workers to put in twelve hours day even though these people might have an hour commute one way? Of course they expect these people to do these twelve hours for very little in the way of salaries. Do these snob and hypocritic mothers ever wonder how the "help's" children get to and from school? I seriously doubt it. Of course they don't only children with parents of the same class as themselves are worthy of concern. posted 04/12/2008 at 07:52:26

The Bible Voted America's Favorite Book

I know that christians aren't blameless and sinless people, obviously. My assumption is that they are suppose to be at least trying to live a life as close to sinless as it is possible for a human.

Imagine my relief. I was worried about those people loosing sleep over my importance and reading habits. posted 04/09/2008 at 18:39:47
How to comment on this. This poll shows how many people are liars? If they are liars doesn't that mean they may be a little lacking when it comes to just how pious and christian they actually are? Pehaps instead of asking the responders for three other books as one poster suggested, how about asking the ones who said the bible was their favorite book to name ten books of the bible? Or how about ask them what five of the ten commandments are. Those who fail, their answer doesn't count. I suppose suggesting they also are beheaded might be a little much. Wasn't there also a poll not long ago that said something to the effect that 80% of americans consider themselves christian. I'm one of the 20% minority then. But I do have a few questions to the other 80%. Another poll was that a large percentage of the population believe in ghost. I tend to believe that poll with how much junk their is on TV with such themes. Does the bible say anything about ghost? Wouldn't that be more of a heathen thing than a christian thing? Or did the poll takers just manage to reach only us 20% of heathens? If 80% are christians, who the hell is watching all the cut throat, winner take all bullshit that is called reality TV? Their whole theme seems a little unchirstainey.

My favorite book......A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving. posted 04/09/2008 at 16:59:53

"Project Runway" Ditches Bravo For Lifetime, NBC Sues To Keep Hit Show

No the big mistake was bravo going to shit programming.....oh, that's the so called chic "reality TV". If I wanted that shit I can go to the networks. Well, the networks are not by passed where they never show up. They do at least provide local news. Bravo, which I did watch quite a bit, now is bannished. posted 04/08/2008 at 03:02:56

It's Not Weightism. You're Just Obese.

I don't think I'm oh what is it called now???? Weight bigoted? But why is it not discussed that there are situations where being around an obese person does make things harder. Air travel comes to mind first of all. True the air lines themselves do not provide the adequate space for a skinny 6 year old to sit comfortably for a cross country flight. However being seated next to an obese person means they are taking up a portion of the small space I paid for. Holding a meeting that requires you to move around being held in a small conference room is another. Getting around them can be a problem. Having an obese person in an office means chairs will start being wobbly and those with casters will quit rolling. These kind of situations need to be discussed in a logical manner because it seems obesity within our society is going to be here a while. They should be discussed regardless if obesity is a choice or not. posted 04/08/2008 at 03:44:00

Stop-Loss: This Generation's Deer Hunter

You know actually banning movies or books or burning books might actually catch the attention of people and upset them. So why do that when you have corporate (AKA bush buddies) control? It's much easier to never have the movies made or the books published in the first place. More tidy that way.

On another line, anyone interested in reading "Johnny Got His Gun" is an excellent book just as relevant today as it was in 1938. posted 03/29/2008 at 08:30:45

U.S. Digital Deficiency Jeopardizes 'Super Power' Status

Speaking from experience, slo-mo porn on a dial up connection is rather disgusting. It also gets boring real fast. posted 03/29/2008 at 05:51:56
I'm an average American who would be happy to do a transaction with my credit union faster than five minutes. That's about what it takes with the Verizon dial-up connection that has been the only game in town till recently. Supposably breaking up and deregulating the telecommunication was supose to cause great things. In a large part of the country it has meant deregulated monopolies. posted 03/29/2008 at 05:43:15
We have a huge third world digital country right within our borders. It's anyone who doesn't live on the east coast or in California. I think it is not very affectionately called, among other things, "Fly Over Country". This last month Verizon offered DSL in this area. Which is a step up from dial which was the only other option besides satellite. Now us little stupid folks in fly over land should be happy to pay $40 bucks a month for 20 year old technology? That forty bucks is for DSL only, no bundling here. Oh and that is just the bait cost after you sign a year contract. So not only is it 20 years old it's much more expensive! posted 03/29/2008 at 05:35:33
