Speaker Pelosi taking questions at Netroots Nation. What would you ask? Answer in comments.

Why was impeachment "off the table" from the start of the Democratic majority? The law is the law, and shouldn't be used as a bargaining chip or be sway to politics. posted 07/19/2008 at 11:21:06

Big Bailouts: Freddie Mac And Fannie Mae, Offshore Drilling, 150 Banks Could Fail

Wow.

Can the government bail me out of my law school loans? It's about the amount of a mortgage... maybe if I yelled loud enough, made myself look important enough... ?

Yeah, I know.

Bush's Banned Interview: An Insight Into Insanity

He's not my president.

Never has been, never will be.

And, having lived in Texas since 1980, I can also say he was never my governor.

Birth Control, Viagra Question Makes McCain Squirm (VIDEO)

I second that... cue Twilight Zone music.

Never underestimate people's ability to let what other people tell them (including buzzwords like "elitist") become their own "firmly-held" beliefs. posted 07/10/2008 at 14:37:07
Okay, let me see if I can get this straight.

McCain can't handle a simple discussion of birth control and his own voting record. It makes him squirm and stammer.

And yet he puts himself out as the only one who can deal with the tough issues, including "terrorism" and foreign affairs, where much, much, tougher questions and issues will arise?

Uh... I don't think so. Even dyed-in-the-red-wool Republicans have to be made uncomfortable by McCain... right?? Isn't it obvious he is the weakest candidate running (even including the independents)?? Or have I just lost my mind completely...?

This is no time for stammering and avoidance of issues, especially the important ones. McCain has no business in MY Oval Office. posted 07/10/2008 at 13:11:47

Obama And Race: Most Whites Open To Black President, But Hate Groups Growing

Sadly, yes. Maybe in another 50 years this country, as a whole, tolerance and humanity prevail.

Saudi Arabia Plans To Increase Its Oil Output

Wonderful. Great. Fabulous. Gas will be $3.75 now. Wow. Way to solve the crisis.

::Sigh::

It just kills me that our warmongering president can go to Saudi Arabia to "plead" and beg at the feet of these billionaires... but then he actually has the gall to try and criticize those that would talk to countries like Iran and North Korea.

It's just disgusting.

Angry Clinton Supporters Start Rallying For McCain

Excellent points. posted 06/07/2008 at 16:15:28
While I completely agree that it is completely asinine to switch allegiance to McCain, please, please, please don't bring Texas into this. Bush isn't from here, no matter how much he'd like to be, Texans don't want him back, and this Ed guy running the absolutely insane website... well, just please don't judge the rest of us Texans on a few bad apples. =)

Take care all. posted 06/07/2008 at 16:11:04

Clinton Compares Herself To Rocky Balboa: We "Have A Lot In Common"

"I did speak out and oppose NAFTA," she said. "I raised a big yellow flag and said 'I don't think this will work.'"

Wow... I don't remember Rocky lying this much in the movie. posted 04/01/2008 at 17:15:21

Can Clinton Win The Popular Vote?

But... who wants to hear her speak for 30 minutes? And what would she talk about?? I know I'd be asleep in 3 minutes, tops. And who wants to hear McCain speak for that long? Heck, it would cut into his nap time and the country would be reduced to catatonia by the number of times he repeats, "My friends..."

Sorry, just couldn't resist. =)

Take care all. posted 03/21/2008 at 14:58:30
"This is not about what Hillary or Obama wants - It is the RIGHT of each AMERICAN citizen to have their vote counted. It's about US not them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DEMAND a revote in Mi and FL Call your Senators and Congress people, and demand your rights as AMERICANS. Don't let them get away with this."

Just a few points...

- I agree that it's not up to the campaigns of either Obama or Clinton to decide any vote or revote in FL or MI. If you listen to Clinton, she sure thinks it's all up to her, but it just isn't.

- I also agree that, of course, it is the right of all Americans to have their vote counted. Unfortunately, those that FL and MI elected (as well as members of the each states Democratic party) broke the primary rules, knowing full well what the consequences would be. I don't care which candidate would benefit, the rules have to be followed. If we just bend the rules and consequences if a group yells loud enough, what does that say about the rule of law, the foundation for our entire system?? At the very least, regardless of how this mess plays out now, be comforted in the fact that your vote will count in the general election. The general election is run by the Federal Government, not "parties", so technically, it carries much more weight.

- As for the "don't let them get away with this", I do wonder where this ire was before the primary votes took place, before the elected officials decided to move the primaries back. Why didn't the citizens of FL and MI "not let them get away with" moving the primaries back? I think this question is getting lost in the grand hoopla that's going on now.

- Now, as for a revote, if there is a fair way to run one, I'm all for it. Votes in legitimate elections count, and if a "revote" can be legitimate according to the rules, then great, everyone vote again. I do believe the people in FL and MI were the ones hurt by the state holding illegitimate elections the first time around, but again, blame the state elected officials and ask why they were allowed to get away with moving the primaries by the voters.

- One final point. "If our votes don't count, then F*** them." That is exactly what will get McCain (Bush III) elected and continue to hurt all of us. Your loyalty belongs to the country, not a party, so you must vote for the right PERSON. I wish all my fellow voters would see this reality and not get so blinded by party politics and other divisions. I'm already an "independent" (small "i") -- free from all party affiliation and proud of it. I actually hope you do "go independent"... it might stress you out less and refocus your passion for this country to where it belongs... on the *country*. =)

Too bad this woman isn't in the 51% you propose will vote for Clinton. Also, too bad she's the wrong *person* for the job.
