No I'm not joking. I don't think the main complaint is that it's plagiarism but rather that she claimed these were "family" recipes. Both things are dishonest at best but nothing compared to the dishonest and deceitful things that her husband has done and said. Who cares what the stepford wife does? Obama Slams McCain, Iraq Strategy On Today

Obama comes off pretty good here. Frank Rich was right about the 100 years thing but it's an easy stick to grab to beat McCain with. I'm guilty of using it myself even though I knew it wasn't what he said. The interesting thing is how the media have jumped in to defend McCain. Did they jump in to defend Bill Clinton when his words were parsed and twisted? (Some of which Obama repeated.) No. Did they jump in to defend Obama when Sean Hannity started ranting about his not wearing a flag pin? Not that I ever heard. If I remember right they picked up the "story" and ran with it. Good luck to Obama once he secures the Democratic nomination because he isn't just running against McCain. He's running against the MSM. Who was that character in Beowolf? Grendel? If McCain is Grendel then the MSM is Grendel's mom. Lord help anyone who messes with their boy. posted 04/08/2008 at 13:00:09

Iraq is not approaching normalcy. 2007 was the deadliest year yet for US troops and we continue to hear of new attacks and deaths every day. A swift withdrawal of troops (which BTW neither Clinton nor Obama is advocating) would not make Iraq a terrorist haven. Invading it 5 years ago made it a terrorist haven. Bill Clinton To Obama Campaign: "Let's Just Saddle Up And Have An Argument"

Read the whole thing and you'll see that Bill is actually saying stop whining about being attacked. That's part of the game. Take the focus off which candidate has been personally maligned by the other and put it back on the issues so the voters can decide who is the best person to lead the country.

Now it does seem a little ironic that Bill is accusing Obama of whining when his wife has repeatedly complained about how she has been treated in the campaign. But I think her complaints have been mostly about her treatment by the press. (I'm just going from memory on that so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.)

Of course it's possible that he's not talking to Obama at all but rather to the press corp who keep distracting the voters with thier "he said/she said" type of reporting. posted 03/26/2008 at 16:38:39

Breaking: Condi Rice Flirts With VP Possibility -- Speaks to Grover Norquist's Wednesday Group Meeting

The conclusion that she's seeking the VP slot just because she met with Norquist seems like a stretch but it could be. There are pluses and minuses for McCain if he chooses her. To us on the liberal side she has a LOT of baggage but she has been treated pretty kindly by the MSM and the average voter may not recognize her culpability for getting us in to Iraq. Being a female and an African American might help bring in some votes (especially in the unlikely event that Obama is not the Dem nominee) but it could drive some of the conservative base away too. McCain will likely chose a social conservative who can bring in the evangelical vote. posted 03/26/2008 at 11:43:17

Who exactly is proposing a "percipitous withdrawal from Iraq"? The only presidential candidate I can ever remember calling for such a thing is Dennis Kucinich and that was in 2004. But that's really beside the point. How could bringing our troops home or redeploying them to other troubled areas make us less safe? Al Qaeda is not concentrated in Iraq. It's not like we are containing the terrorist threat by keeping them busy in Iraq. We are less secure with such a concentration of our troops in Iraq and particularly with so many of our National Guard troops deployed there. If we are really worried about another attack on US soil why did we send our National Guard to Iraq? posted 03/27/2008 at 12:08:17
