I have served as Prosecuting Attorney, Probate Judge, and City Attorney in a small city in Michigan. I was a delegate to the Republican National Convention in 1976, supporting Gerald R. Ford. I am pro choice but do not fault a person for having other views as long as they do not try to impose them on me. I believe strongly in honesty in government, taking the finance out of government by public financing of campaigns, and intensely dislike criticism for the sake of political advancement. I was against going to war in Iraq, prefering a use of the inspections until nothing else could prevail, but do not feel that leaving now without precaution will produce anything but many m0re Osama bin Ladens like when we pulled out of Afghanistan.

I have traveled to a great number of places and trust people and feel that xenolopholgy is folly in a world fast becoming smaller and smaller.

And I feel that a couple of years in the Senate of Illinois and even less in the US Senate is not qualification for a candidacy for Presidency of the US. One who attempts it is overestimating his own capacities to an extent that makes me doubt his good judgment.
