On Obama, I have a realistic view of his role, expectations, influence and realize that he is not magical and cannot influence everything to his liking.
Seems to me that the people who really expect magic and holiness from Obama are the ones who keep complaining about anyone feeling admiration for him. They seem to be his biggest critics.
The rest of us who adore him actually understand that those ideas are not reasonable. I think that the celebrity worship is actually coming from them.
I know what I expect. It is not perfection. It's improvement.
I admire him because he strives to be a good man despite being a fallible human. Others hate him because he is not magical and cannot change make things happen to their liking immediately. They hate him simply because he is a fallible human. There lies true hypocrisy and it comes from the people just as much as from the politicians.
