Born in Queens, NY and was brought up in various parts of New York, including NYC, Buffalo, Ithaca and Hawthorne
After leaving Ithaca College, relocated to New Milford, CT and, short of a couple of years in Florida, has been in this area ever since.
Began playing drums at the age of ten and except for a short period of time at the beginning and an even shorter period of time taking lessons from Gary Fiandra, is primarily self-taught. She has played with a number of bands and musicians in the Greater Danbury area (see other SpamPages). Founded the band Spam Brando in 1983-'84 and has been it's "Den Mother" and drummer ever since, save for that two year exception living in Florida. I play a six piece Pearl MLX drum set and uses Zildjian cymbals.
My technical background contributed to a lengthy career in in mechanical and optical quality control, including work on the optics for both the Hubble and AXAF (CHANDRA) Space Telescopes.
For nine years until she shut the door in 2000, Owens owns and operates a video production studio as well as a computer repair and build biz.
Various health concerns and injuries have had me sidelined at different points in time, but I successfully beat a raging case of Hepatitus C and have recently become the proud owner of a damned stent in my artery.
I still live in New Milford, CT, have two daughters, Nikki and Shaina, a Russian Blue kitty by the name of Roadkill, son-in-law Mike and two lovely spamchildren, five year old Mason and four year old Dylan. Cindy hate traffic (anywhere) and screaming little brats with mothers who stupidly ignore their tantrums for us to suffer...
