Bio
Greg Selker is the Founder, President & CEO of Selker Leadership. For almost 20 years, he has been in the retained executive search and leadership consulting business, beginning when he joined CT Partners as their 11th employee. Over the next 12 years he played a key role in driving their growth into a major, international search firm. Throughout his career, technology companies were his focus, including those dealing in software, hardware and infrastructure, ranging from venture-backed start-ups to global multinationals at both the board and executive management levels. He has also worked extensively with IT organizations and CIOs on a cross-industry basis.
He founded Selker Leadership in the summer of 2002 to fulfill on a vision of creating a professional services firm dedicated to assisting companies in distinguishing and developing their leadership capabilities. This commitment led to the invention of Selker Leadership's patent-pending Performance Values Assessmentâ„¢ (PVAâ„¢) methodology which is at the core of all of the company's services.
Within the first year of interviewing candidates using the PVA methodology, Greg discovered that it had tremendous applicability for use as an executive leadership assessment and development tool, and it could be extended into an overall system for hiring and performance assessment. Since then, he has led the efforts at bringing PVA into several leading global corporations including BMC Software, Pfizer, TRW and VeriSign. Selker Leadership has trained multiple teams on integrating the PVA methodology into their interviewing and hiring process where results are demonstrating that PVA significantly reduces to zeroing out mis-hires. Greg has personally conducted PVA Leadership Development Sessions with more than 50 executives over the past two years. In addition to working with CEOs and other C-level executives in this capacity, he has worked extensively in developing the leadership capacities and potentials of CIOs, CFOs and their senior leadership teams.
In addition to Selker Leadership, Greg has maintained a high level of involvement in his community. Recently, he was the President of the Board of The Pardes School, Cleveland's first egalitarian Jewish High School, and the Treasurer of Kol HaLev, Cleveland's Reconstructionist synagogue.
His passion is distinguishing and being a source for leadership and cultures that thrive on it. He is currently co-authoring the book "Real Leaders" with Larry Elliott, detailing his experiences since forming Selker Leadership, the development of the PVA methodology, and its effectiveness in helping to build and sustain cultures of leadership within organizations.
