We have a local congregation that runs a food bank. They distribute their food on Sunday after services-but only to those people who have attended their service.

This is not charity-its a public relations ploy.

At Christmas they provide gifts for poor children-after they have attended 4 weeks of Sunday School.

A Softer, Gentler Michelle Obama?

I really didn't care for Michelle Obama at first.

But she is taking a lot of crap for her comments about the first time she was really proud of her country, and its a shame. I understand exactly what she meant. I have always had a love for my country, but as a gay man, have felt left out, like I was notentitled to certain things.

Obama's nomination clears a hurdle. And everytime a marginalized group advances, we all win.

Perhaps her comment should have been phrased to be more clear, but if we get over being literal and consider the context, and what she was really trying to say, its easy to see and understand her words.
