New Photos Reveal Horror Of Hiroshima (GRAPHIC IMAGES)

I hope the people who looked at these terrible photographs keep in mind that John McCain and Hillary Clinton have both said they would consider the nuclear option. Maybe some of us haven't evolved as much as we had thought. True, but painfully sad. Thousands died for George Bush's moment of artificial glory, this make-believe reliving of his non-existant military service. Where were all of our keener-than-keen investigative reporters when this fraud was perpetrated on the world?
Stalking Anna Nicole Smith and/or Brittny Spears or soiling themselves for a new angle on the Brangelina crapola.
Aptly described by Ms. Mapes as "gushing" they greedily swilled the Kool-aid doled out by Bush's brain like starving refugees. They squandered whatever journalistic credibility they had for a "get" and metamorphized into the media moonies now populating our television screens and newspapers.
Why haven't they demanded an answer from George Bush about those missing military months? Ignored and bamboozled by the man behind the cutrtain, why weren't they raising a stink like the latest media frenzy over what was said by the intelligent but feckless Jeremiah Wright?
The answer is as painfully simple as Bush's ego flight was painfully fraudulent.
They are too spineless to seek the truth, too gutless to publish it.
George Bush has blood on his hands, and the media moonies who celebrated his flight of fancy are looking for a rag to wipe that sticky red stuff off their fingers. posted 05/03/2008 at 13:57:11

"Mudcat" Saunders: Why Obama Isn't Winning Working Class Whites

Re Health care and medical insurance;
If you want to know what's wrong with medical care in America, look at the insurance industry. It isn't bad enough that the Republicans allowed them to write industry-favorable legislation. The industry and the politicians they own are fighting universal health care like it was the anti-Christ. They call it socialized medicine, giving it a whiff of that old bogeyman, Communism.
The out of control increases in medical costs began in the mid seventies. Insurance companies figured out that they made more money by denying claims and raising deductibles. They dodged the criticism by saying frivolous lawsuits forced them to raise prices.
Then they raised malpractice premiums for doctors, not because it was necessary but because they could. Medical care providers can't practice without malpractice insurance so, to keep their malpractice insurance they had to raise their fees to pay for it.
The only thing worse than the current medical insurance nightmare is what happens to people who simply can't afford to buy it. posted 04/25/2008 at 03:19:40

White working class voters...racist and uneducated? Poor white trash voters? It sounds as though you're trying to pass for upper-class educated white man. Your roots are showing.
Class hatred is so ugly, especially when you elevate yourself and denigrate anyone who doesn't meet your standards.
Free trade is good, but not for anyone who wants to keep a job in America. Our jobs are being shipped overseas; the Republicans call it out-sourcing. NAFTA has turned this country into an economic colony of the European Union and China. Our raw materials are being shipped out of the country and the finished products are being shipped back here for us to buy. Who profits from that? The European Union and China.
Your economic theories are pure junk. You say free trade creates more wealth, and in the same breath talk about a "social saftey net" (sic) to retrain workers who lost jobs from free trade. You can't support your own premise. Then you really blew it with your lousy spelling.

I couldn't help but notice the too-conspicuous gender specificity of your God. What proof do you have that God is a male?
Regarding "his" word. Do you honestly think God sat down with a quill and papyrus and wrote the Good Book. If God was as all powerful as the religions of the world claim. God didn't have to.
The Christian Bible, all versions, like all other religious tomes, was written by human beings. The writings included in the canons of the various religions were selected by a self-appointed group of other human beings. The choices were based more on the politics of the time than anything else, least of all the ethos of Jesus Christ.
True Christianity is an interesting concept, few Christian religious leaders or followers exhibit Christ-like qualities or attitudes. Let's begin with humility; you need an intensive remedial course in that one.
From there you make a quantum leap to the increase of adult female sexual abuse of underage males. Cast blame where it belongs, at the perpetrators and get your names straight. It has nothing to do with Gloria Steinem and everything to do with Mary Kay LeTourneau and Debra Lefave.
Frankly, you come across as just another pompous, intellectually constipated religious head case venting his impotent outrage over a world that won't go back to the good old days of the Inquisition, when "real men had real power and used it."

History repeats itself. As usual, and as it has been for centuries, the Catholic Church is doing too little, too late.
Rather than preach about the need for charity, the Pope should empty some of the Vatican treasure houses and start feeding the poor.
Rather than scolding the women of the world for their attempts to gain power, the Pope should acknowledge that women have as much right to it as men and redress centuries of misogynistic attitudes and actions.
Rather than speaking of his deep shame about the sexual abuse of children by his clergy, the Pope should hold accountable those who indulged their pedophilia without restraint, and with impunity.
He should stop providing a safe haven for them in the Vatican and at hundreds of so-called retirement homes or retreats.
He should order Cardinal Law and all those like him back to the countries where they either abused children themselves or covered up abuse by others.
He should defrock any priest or nun convicted of the abuse of those least able to protect themselves from the depradations of the "sanctified."
Finally, he should carefully examine the smug piety and shameful extravagances of the Catholic Church. Neighborhood churches are closing because they can't afford to stay open, while the Vatican inhabitants live like royalty. posted 04/17/2008 at 09:35:08

It Takes Real Chutzpah for a Guy Who Owns Eight Houses (McCain) to Call Barack Obama an "Elitist"

The use of the word "reportedly" is in the same category as the use of the word "allegedy" when describing people accused or convicted of a crime. I.e. Lewis Libby.
You're looking too hard for trivial things to criticize and missing the big picture.
I don't care if the McCains own eight houses or eighty. I do care that you're making the word "reportedly" an issue when too many Americans are losing the only home they have, and too many of our veterans are living on the streets or under bridges.
Maybe you should look at the meaning behind the words.
A lot of Americans are bitter. We have an obscenely elitist executive office and a disgracefully spineless legislature, neither of whom gives a rat's arse about us. We've been thrown into a war the Republicans don't want to get out of and that the Democrats don't know how to get out of. Our economy is tanked. My God, do you read your own posts? I suppose it's necessary for the Clinton apologists out there to howl like banshees when facts expose their candidate's "experiences" as a pack of self-promoting lies. What else can you do?
I was neutral until recently. I wanted to see what the candidates had to say, and how their words matched up with their voting records. A few weeks ago I blogged that Senator Clinton lost my vote because of the nastiness of her 3AM phone call ad. It was right out of the Goldwater Republican fear mongering playbook.
Now...with this painfully obvious lie she's lost my respect. Lives were lost in that war; real human beings bled and died. For anyone to fabricate themself into the actual fighting for political gain is reprehensible, and a preview of the kind of leader he/she will be.
The appropriate visual aid here would be GWB in a flight suit waddling across a flight deck. The only thing he flew wasn't in combat and didn't have wings.
Accept facts, Senator Clinton lied. If she hadn't lost my vote earlier, she'd have lost it now. We already have a pathological liar in the Oval Office, do we really want another one?

Hillary Says She 'Misspoke' About Wrestling Bin Laden

Note to rosal;
It's not acting, it's lying. Big difference.

So original! Which site do you go to to copy song lyrics? I'm wondering if this is some new Yuppie communication disorder, or just plain old laziness. Do you have any words of your own, or are you content just to regurgitate what someone else said a couple of decades ago?
When I was in high school we called it verbal vomit., funny how the name still fits. By the way, learn to spell and find out what a contraction and an apostrophe are.

Senator Clinton lost my vote with her ugly 3AM phone call commercial. Now, with the lie about dodging sniper fire in Bosnia, she's lost my respect.
Call it what you want, padding the resume, gilding the lily, embroidering the truth, burnishing the image, spinning the facts... a lie is a lie is a lie.
We already have a White House full of liars, do we want or need more?

A McCain Moment: Do You Want Four More Years of This?

Re: John McCain;
Just what America needs, another mindless empty suit in the Oval Office.
Any hero credits McCain earned during the Vietnam War... excuse me, Conflict, it was never actually declared.....I digress, have been squandered with his pig-headed determination to send more of America's bravest and best to George's Crusade in the Middle East.
Apparently 4000 lives lost isn't enough blood shed in the quest for more $$$ for Halioburton,. KBR and Blackwater.
George Bush has blood on his hands and it looks like McCain can't wait to get his share.
