Memo to Obama: Moving to the Middle is for Losers

Amazing! The entire FISA process is the issue not the silly little part that gives someone whose civil liberties have been violated a way to hold the telecomms accountable. Read the amazingly rediculous FISA Bill and then tell the rest of us what it means and whether it is still a non-issue. FISA requires modification or repeal. Uh no you PUH-Leeze...how is one determined to be liberal? It is by your voting record and your positions on issues and policies. Obama is rated as an "extreme liberal" and that is what made him so appealing. There is no smear campaign involved in tagging him exaclty what he is. The fact is that he must now change that position and move a little closer to the center but the esteemed gentleman from Illinois does not unedrstand the concept of baby steps so he just slid straight across the line and now he has to deal with the "flip flop" allegations. You can support your candidate as will I. He will get my vote but he will have to answer for every position he takes because that was his platform. I am going to keep him honest because that is my investment. Oh and I not only have two brain cells I actually have an education am over 40 am Hispanic and hold a Master's degree...not the demographic that would have supported BHO but there you have it. posted 07/01/2008 at 22:38:16

Obama VP Vetter Johnson Resigns

It is a double edged sword that he holds and swings. The question is can he amend his position and admit that he should have been more specific about the specific unethical practices associated with lobbyists and politicians that he wants to rid DCof? It is going to be impossible to rid DC of lobbyists. He has to be extremely careful not to cut off is own head with tha sword. All the great advisors are or hae been lobbyists at one time or another. Additionally, there are excellent causes out there that need lobbyists to break the walls of silence and ignorance down because alone they cannot do it. I agree with anyone who believes that lobbyists have their role and it is the politicians who must now rebuld the trust of the nation that they will follow strict rules of ethics and be held directly responsible for their corrupt practices. I guess this is what I can look forward to...having to support someone who has just shut out the one who brought the subejct to the forefront like her or not. Unless this is part of the deal that makes Edwards the VP running mate. I guess he doesn't need my vote. Just because he is representing the party does not mean i have to swallow all the crap that comes down now that he has it locked. I believe that if there is anything that should be done to correct misgivings about our history it is to rewrite the accounts to accurately reflect the participation of the many men and women who served with pride and honor to defend this nation. People of color have fought valiantly throughout our history; it has been the failure of the story tellers who use film as their medium to tell the story completely. No doubt Blacks have served this country well and in many cases with superior ability to their white counter parts. I wish we could get beyond the need to distinguish Americans by race creed or color.

Many have been forgotten in the tales of this country's history not just Blacks. Native Americans, Hispanics and Asians have been over looked all too often. Above any particular race or ethnicity have been the women who have served this country who have been given innocuous footnote credits here and there. Such is life. posted 06/09/2008 at 16:09:00
