Solar and Wind IS capable of generating all of our power needs for all sectors: residential, commercial, industrial, and transportation. And, it can be done at nearly the same price as cureent energy rates. We have all the wind and solar resources we need but must invest and deply the infrastrucute. We could generate all HVAC, lighting, and automotive power needed from renewable electricity without burning anything! If "We the People" would make trillion-dollar investemnt to deploy the infrastructure and create the grid, we would own the energy and reap the rewards of selling inexpenisve energy to our societies entrepreneurs. No more tax credits and depletion allowances that inflate energy costs and feed the avarice of the Scrooge McDucks. We'd stop the $700 Bn/year going to the middle east; no "drill-baby-drill" required; no coal nor natural gas needed;no deforestration. And we can make it here and create jobs for years to come. If we miss this opportnity, rest assured, China won't.
My thumb-nail depicts the flooding that could occur if all ice melted. Let me know if you are serious about renewable energy.
