GOP House Leaders Disrespect American Flag

This shouldn't surprise anyone. John Boehner is the same corrupt asshole who handed out 'pay outs' to other GOP reps, checks from big tobacco companies right on the House floor. The checks were given out literally right after GOP reps had voted down a bill that would have been bad for big tobacco. They made that illegal to do, so now Boehner has to give those bribes out in private. His district should be embarrassed that this fool represents them, but they're obviously just as dumb as he is... posted 05/16/2008 at 20:54:10

Obama Responds To Bush, McCain Appeasement Attack

I, like most of the news papers and online blogs i read today, think Obama has handled this political gift pretty well. You may be sick of the word 'divisive' but if thats your biggest problem here - then you may have other problems. That word is the correct word to use, and Americans who want to move forward cannot let the McBush's of the world distract us from the real goals. Bush and Rove got enough Americans side-tracked on b.s. battles against straw-men to run this country into the ground. How many more years are you willing to get played by your government?? posted 05/16/2008 at 20:41:53
Didn't Bin Laden put out a new tape just today??? While Bush sent our troops to Iraq, helping Iran become more powerful in the region, Bush took his eyes off the real center of terrorism in Afghanistan. And that's why Bin Laden is still out there sending more messages to his followers. McCain's double-talk express is only putting McCain right next to Bush, one of the least popular presidents in american history ever. Furthermore Obama has the credibility to speak out on this failed foreign policy because HE WAS AGAINST THE WAR IN IRAQ from the beginning. Kerry, Edwards or Clinton wouldn't be able to make the arguments as clearly since they all voted for the war in Iraq. McCain is not going to win by placing himself even closer to Bush's failed foreign policy. posted 05/16/2008 at 20:38:02

McCain's Lobbyist Scandals Prompt Additional Scrutiny

John McCain and his GOP cronies are desperate and they're looking for anything to stop Obama's momentum. Not in 2009, so NARAL made the right decision - I mean were they going to back pro-life McCain??! The guy (his lawyer) is asking for so much so the settlement is decent - thats standard. They'll probably settle in the low 6 figures. By the way, punitive damages have often been used to make companies make real policy changes. Big corporations make decisions based on financial gains or losses, so sometimes juries need to give companies a big hit to get them to take notice. All others in the media, that I've seen, have bought into campaign spin and haven't been able to accurately and unemotionally cover The Race. Clinton Mentor: Hillary Failed To Master Female Approach

Looks like even at age 61, Hillary still doesn't know who she wants to be. Instead of trying to be like 'the boys' she would have been better being herself and at least being authentic. She is the victim of her own over analysis where Hillary's actions are the result of triangulation and not the result of natural and honest reflex. Maybe Hillary should have been listening to people like Houston, since this contest was Clinton's biggest stage, and she is now regarded by the majority of voters as dishonest and unauthentic. This perception is the result of Hillary's inability to find her own identity and her own voice. After 61 years you'd think Hillary had a clearer sense of herself. That being said - I'd take anybody over Hillary as VP. Obama cannot run on change and put her on the ticket - she would completely undermine Obama's entire message. posted 05/11/2008 at 02:09:16

McCain's Convention Chair Quits Over Burma Ties

McCain has had a whole bunch of state campaign chairs go out in disgrace. He really surrounds himself with sketchy and dubious characters. Look for many more moments like this out of McCain's sell-out self. posted 05/10/2008 at 19:52:55

Rangel Slams Clinton White Support Talk

Rangel is an idiot and a sell out. Seeing today's quotes I see he's not wising up at all. posted 05/10/2008 at 20:04:44

AP: Ex-Manager Says OJ Simpson Confessed

"Mike Gilbert also claims he helped his former friend wiggle out of the murder charges by suggesting how to bloat his hands so they wouldn't fit the notorious bloody gloves"

This guy is taking credit for that??! Obviously Gilbert is a liar, but on top of that he obviously has no ethics. He's only saying this stuff to get paid, and anybody who comes out with these type of stories AFTER they're off the pay roll can't be credible.

I don't need to buy this trash to know OJ was guilty. posted 05/10/2008 at 20:38:48

Clinton Still Attacking Obama On Campaign Trail

I hope Hillary keeps it up, because her negative attacks are only going to drive undecided super delegates to Obama. Hillary would be smarter to tell voters why they should vote for her, instead of why they shouldn't vote for Obama, but she just can't campaign in a positive way, she doesn't know how to. posted 05/10/2008 at 14:53:31

Obama Enters Enemy Territory: West Virginia

A very interesting article. I hate to say it, but honestly there's no convincing people who are so ignorant. They won't even believe Obama is a Christian, and would rather believe he's a terrorist. If I got such a stupid email I'd be insulted, but when they get those kind of emails they just believe them - and they don't even know who the sender is! Again, I wish it wasn't this way BUT I think Obama can't waste too much time in backwards minded places like WVA. Some in the article said 'I don't know if people are ready for a black president.' Most people who are themselves ready for a black president don't need to ask themselves that question. I've been to WVA many time (driving thru as quickly as possible) and I'd guess a large percentage of their citizens ARE NOT ready for a black president. But thats not how change works, the people who are ready have to force change sometimes. Thats how America got rid of slavery, thats how blacks and women got the right to vote, and thats how we beat so many other former cultural fears. The real question should be: ARE THERE ENOUGH OF US READY FOR REAL CHANGE IN 2008? posted 05/10/2008 at 16:29:18

Feminists sharply divided between Clinton, Obama

Hillary has hurt the feminist movement during this process. Instead of leading a campaign about the future she mired in old & tired battles of the past. She also went out of her way to be even tougher then a man, and whenever she was down she played the victim. She also was a mean spirited and petty candidate that made many of her supporters seem just as petty. Feminism lost some credibility by standing by silently while Hillary ran such a negative campaign. Also Hillary showed far too many emotions at times (sometimes within moments) which played into men's stereotypical images of women being overly emotional or worse. Hillary took the women's voting block for granted, and I think she has hurt future chances for female presidential candidates. I'll be curious to see how history reflects on this failed opportunity. We certainly are long over due to elect a woman president, just as we are electing a black and hispanic president. Breaking down barriers helps all groups, not only the obvious group directly connected. Women, blacks, latinos, and anybody in the political minority have to stick together because many of our interests are actually the same. It's because we have been divided that it's taken this long to get to this historic point. But if we remain divided there will be another old white guy as president yet again. posted 05/10/2008 at 17:25:37

Obama Campaign Launches "Vote For Change" Voter Registration Drive

I've volunteered for Obama several times and I look forward to doing my part in this latest project. Getting more people involved in democracy is a wonderful goal. The more people tune in to what's going on the more our politics can tune out lobbyists and corporate interests that currently own washington dc.

Go Obama! posted 05/10/2008 at 19:43:26
"Oh, ok. The remaining states haven't even voted yet, and Obama is launching a voter registration drive???"

Are you an idiot?? (I already know the answer to that question) - This will help any and every Democrat who runs in november. Even if you're girl Hillary were to win - which is obviously not going to happen, but maybe in some alternative universe even Hillary benefits from this. it's amazing how some of you Hillary supporters try so hard to find something negative about anything Obama does. posted 05/10/2008 at 19:40:58

E-Mail Shows Racial Jokes by Secret Service Supervisors

I wish I could say that this article is a surprise, but it isn't. There's systemic institutional racism at every level of business and government. Since there's obviously many more white people most of this is going to be whites directing their feelings about other groups, thats just the reality. The country has moved away from the more blatant KKK style racism and settled more into this 'behind close doors' and 'amongst friends' kinda racism - which is actually more cowardly. Atleast a black person knows where they stand with a KKK member, but they may never know where they stand with a co-worker. Thats what makes a story like this so damaging. Those jokes would be more trivial if they didn't go along with a pattern of bigotry in the work place. It's very disturbing to hear this going on at the secret service, but then again, maybe it shouldn't surprise anyone since I'm sure its a mostly white agency, serving mostly white politicians. It's no wonder that those supervisors felt so comfortable making racist jokes and sending racist emails. Maybe a little more diversity would help educate these bigots. posted 05/10/2008 at 16:51:34

Obama Suggests Offer Maybe Clinton Can't Refuse

Obama: don't pay Mark Penn's $10 million salary & don't pay Hillary's loan!! She decided to run her campaign into the mud - it's ok to help out but don't pay the full $25 million! posted 05/09/2008 at 23:27:09

DMX Arrested For Drugs And Animal Cruelty In SWAT Team Raid

I hope the animals are alright. DMX was already convicted on animal cruelty charges back in NY, so it's pretty likely he's guilty of this. DMX is definitely not living a smart life - just leave the dog fighting alone. He's obviously not learning any lessons from these legal situations. If he gets found guilty of this again they'll probably throw the book at him. Ask Mike Vick how that can go. posted 05/12/2008 at 12:49:48

Hillary's Chances: Growing Chorus Says It's Not Going To Happen

"I have no problem at all with blacks, and actually have black friends"

That's the official racist defense. Now we know you're racist. posted 05/10/2008 at 00:53:51
karmax - maybe you were not paying any attention but back in December Hillary was polling between 35-45% of the black vote across various states in America. The 'black vote' didn't abandon her until after her and her husband and various surrogates started into their racially polarizing comments, and it wasn't only blacks who felt this way. Many whites also believed that the Clintons had tried to diminish and marginalize Obama as simply 'the black candidate.' Most blacks had positive feelings towards the Clintons and would have supported her. She certainly could have had respectable voter margins amongst black voters. It was their own actions that caused this. Now she is left with Ronald Reagan level black support, in the single digits. If you want to be mad about this, then be mad at the Clintons - it was their own comments that caused this. Even Hillary felt she needed to apologize for her comments - and she did (too late). posted 05/10/2008 at 00:47:17

Rasmussen To Stop Polling Clinton Questions

Noucant:"Just remember a majority picked Hitler...did that make it right???"

Noucant - your name says it all, and thats why you and your tired candidate lost. You know you're a complete chump when you bring Hitler comparisons into an argument. Thats always a winning strategy in getting people to see your view - !

Don't let your head explode when Obama accepts the nomination in August. posted 05/10/2008 at 00:00:43
Look Noucant,

WV, PR, KY are all lovely states BUT unfortunately their votes won't matter in this primary season. Don't take it personally, most primary seasons are over after just 5-6 states have voted. You must be from WV- huh?? I think I saw you in that movie 'Wrong Turn.' posted 05/09/2008 at 23:55:16
