I agree with the scenario for 2008. However, I think Hillary is badly over-estimating how many of us who voted for The Clinton's (I did twice) now despise her
In 2012, McCain will have appointed at least two very right wing SCOTUS Justices, probably younger and more right wing than Roberts and Alito.
A majority of the Democratic Party will remember all of her endorsements of McCain.

This is a very good essay.
I would argue that HillaryCare was also a self-inflicted trouble. She ran the whole thing the way Cheney ran his Energy Initiatives in total secrecy and a contempt for real people, which is fine if the people you are trying to please ALREADY control so much power, like Oil Executives, and a disaster if they are uninsured Americans who sit at the bottom of our Power Scale.
And don't forget that Hillary's first Initiative for Better Government wasfiring the Travel Office staff and putting her own people in, getting caught, and then telling lie after lie about her involvement.

One of the saddest things about America is Rage. The Rage takes many forms, but it is always stupid and self-defeating. When I (male catching up to 60) was growing up, there were many street fights. Usually, the kid with the rage LOST, even if he were stronger and the better fighter. Rage always seems to destroy who carries it.

Politically SNL comforts the comfortable. The Clinton's get 15 million dollar book deals, six figure speaking fees for a single talk, millions and millions of dollars from wealthy and powerful friends, and SNL makes fun of the Media for even reporting that all The Clinton's wealth came from their "Public Service" (which is a good one that many of our multi-millionaires from Biden to Gingrich to, some day, Obama, hide behind).

My wife & I watch SNL. We give Obama money. We don't begrudge Poelher's pro-Hillary ad because we used to like Amy when the show gave her roles (she and Armisen need new agents....)
The opening sketch was another Amy Poehler LOVES her newest bff Hillary, but Darrel Hammond always steals whatever laughs there are in Poehler's Hillary. One good thing about Amy's Hillary? It is funnier than Armisen's Obama, but so is trench mouth, or salt water, or a beer can.
The Walken show was great. Kristen Wiig has emerged as the best player. Walken read his lines so clumsily that he sank some of the sketches, but it was a good SNL.

One thing that still shocks me, 2008: how often people will make racists remarks when it is an all white gathering. We can do better and need to do better.
I cannot actually believe when my fellow non-colored friends say that "I have never heard any white people say anything prejudiced about blacks." Or, "Well blacks are prejudiced, too."

By the way, funny story: it turned out that although there was "A vast right wing conspiracy" as Hillary said in her attempt to tear down Monica Lewinsky, Bill Clinton DID have sex with that woman!

Uh-oh, someone is saying that Hillary lied about Bosnia just because there is a film of what happened and her endless description is shown to be a lie. Break out the attacks! The Clinton's, and those unlucky enough to support them, constantly attack. They cannot win arguments so they attack anyone who opposes them. Richardson is a "Judas", other senators have nefarious reasons. Meanwhile evryone who supports The Clinton's does so because their hearts are pure and innocent.
It is crazy, but that is the whole Philosophy of The Clinton's: everyone who opposes them is bad and must be attacked. Lies are truth, is as a word has so many meanings, their lies are misstatements. Clinton Owes Obama An Apology
This column is so unfair. Poor Hillary.
I don't understand why people try to hold Hillary Clinton to any kind of moral standard. The Clinton's decide what is right and what is wrong.
If Obama had merely acknowledged that Hillary was Valedictorian at Wellesley and gotten out of the race, she would not have to play the demagogue role. Just give them what they want and they promise not to hurt us.
Hillary may indeed be a national disgrace, but compared to her husband Bill, she is not even the most megalomaniacal person alive today. Plus, if you had seen as much active duty combat as Hillary, you would be a mean and nasty and spiteful and hateful piece of work too.
You brought Hillary's Meanness on yourself America! She wanted to be the warm, almost jovial, front-runner, but you had to go and like someone else. Some of you joined the 52 % of people who hate her and thinks she is a vicious enabler of the most profligate waste of talent (Bill) in our lifetimes.

The way Hillary landed on that Aircraft Carrier in Bosnia, the way she dodged those bombs and bullets....The way she looked in her flight jacket as she unfurled her "Mission Accomplished!" Banner (which she had previously used when she unveiled the HillaryCare Program that people embraced because they knew that she must have done a good job because like Cheney, she works better in secrecy....
She is one macho woman.
And just as Hillary's character is unimpeccable, a support from one of her campaign workers is the detail that seals the deal.
Peter Daou is not a fool. I really respect him. Those Clinton's are two honest son of a guns and it is a shame that they have to even seek election. We should appoint them co-presidents for life.
