Defection Of Longtime Superdelegate Jolts Clinton

my goodness kay, maybe because some of us are trying to make a rational decision, rather than succumb to hating a candidate that stands for much of what you believe in when it comes to the issues... posted 05/01/2008 at 20:47:05
i'm white... he didn't lose my vote

so you think that once the general election comes around, those white making under 50k will vote for someone who's pushing the bush healthcare, or someone who might actually get them covered?
and the issues could go on... this is not the general election, people seem to be voting for who they "like" among the two candidates, their stances on the issues are identical... when the general comes around we'll have a real election, we'll have an 180 on almost every issue posted 05/01/2008 at 20:44:08

thank you... i cannot believe my eyes when i see these people who say that if either hillary or obama doesn't win they will not vote for the other..but instead defect to mccain... i don't know what to think of these people, are they really democrats or just entertainment tonight voters? posted 05/01/2008 at 20:32:05
they won't... a large number of superdelegates at once would be a huge blow which would alienate many hillary supporters... this needs to be handled very delicately, a few every day until they "crowd" her out posted 05/01/2008 at 20:30:02

Kerry Rips MSNBC On Wright: 'You People Need To Let Go Of This'

i don't know how to feel about this... on the one hand, if everyone simply starts refusing to talk about it, and framing that refusal the same way kerry did, it might work, people might back off just as they did with busy and some parts of his unpleasant stuff in 99-00. On the other hand, maybe he needs to go out there and fight this thing out, tell people that this is ludicrous, and actively change the topic himself. The first didn't work with kerry last time, and the latter stinks of "angry black man". what to do... because regardless of how angry we get at the media and their style in delivering news, it won't change overnight... posted 05/01/2008 at 01:00:50

Whither Joe?

I think the earlier poster was correct, you need to relax a little bit, I consider myself to be a staunch liberal, but you appear to be so far left that there's no lane for you on the autobahn, claiming that conservatives are killing people around the world for their "amusement" goes too far into the ridiculous.

Just to throw a thought out there, what if these "evil" conservatives are simply economic conservatives? They may simply want lower taxes, or a flat tax as some of them argue. Sure you can argue about their selfishness, etc but your portrayal of all conservatives as these demonic, premeditative killers with totalitarian goals goes a bit too far, don't you think?

What happened to a good debate over the issues, without framing things in terms of black or white, good or evil, God or the Devil, but rather a healthy argument from people with different perspectives on the world? posted 04/11/2008 at 13:56:46
strong words there... the man is entitled to his opinion, goodness... he was just elected to public office, however much you may disagree with him, it's still something that should demand a bit of respect at least... posted 04/11/2008 at 13:47:30

i'm still confused about why this man is being torn apart by the media, everyone because of things that his religious leader says... nobody went after Romney and his magic underpants
the sitting in a church argument is offensive to me, who are these people to implicitly tell this man what church he should attend or leave?

James Carville on Gov. Richardson's Endorsement of Barack Obama

"To me Clinton=republican"

It is rhetoric like this that makes me cringe.. although one can disagree with senator clinton on many issues, calling her a republican goes too far, especially when the platforms of both democratic presidential candidates are almost identical.

This is primary season folks... Obama and Clinton are resorting to the most petty of actual policy differences to attract voters. Wait for the national campaign to see two candidates that will differ immensely on almost every single issue. I understand the passion of supporters of either candidate, but I think it's important that we remain objective and understand that ultimately both Hillary and Barack are on the same side. posted 03/24/2008 at 02:18:18
