Actually...some would like nothing better than to begin locking people up for some truly unprovable future event. Those "Deciders" will imprison so-called deniers even though they have no direct involvement in the so-called humanity induced climate catastrophe:

Ah... now we see the true colors of the enviro-alarmists. They go on endlessly about the responsibility of everyone to live as THEY SAY, and yet they do nothing themselves! I don't mean the usual taking public transit and turning down the thermostat kind of stuff. I mean living like someone who really cares about your cause enough to leave the so-called poisonous culture you constantly speak against.

However, you are the one missing the point. Al Gore and the UN's IPCC (etc) are not focused on those things. They are focused on the future cataclismic environmental destruction of the planet as set out by computer models. If these computers are that effective at foretelling the future...well...I have a triactor at Bellmont Park I would like them to meet.

I'm sorry, but if someone's hypothesis is dependent on the planet warming because of an increase of CO2 and yet the planet is not warming in the face of that increasing CO2 then logic dictates that their hypothesis is wrong. But who said that logic has had anything to do with this?

But the "debate is over." What is to discuss? At least that's what we are told time and again from everyone spreading fear about the environmental doom of the planet. Yet in all my research and interest in learning about the whole global warming issue I have seen a treasure trove of info that questions many of Gore's and the IPCC's conclusions. Just a few here:

If Gore etc are correct in all they say about GW why close down the debate? What are they afraid of?? If their views are the iron clad scientific inquiry and conclusions they claim, then all debate should wither and die in the presence of those conclusion.

It's interesting that Gore mentioned the flat earth argument because it's the "scientific consensus" (which is what all natural global warming deniers point to) that was responsible for the acceptance and longevity of the flat earth concept. Yes you're probably right the global warming fear frenzy will most likely pick up in July when its WARM. I know of a principal of a school who one day looked outside at all the vast amounts of snow we have received and remarked: "If this isn't proof of global warming I don't know what is." Think about it, normal amounts of snow in the winter time are now an indication of global warming. My point is not that global warming is happening or not happening it's that we are now living in an age of fear and delusion. Fear of the future derived from fear of the present. Delusional because everything we see and hear will now confirm OUR mental construction of the world.

We are now living in Jonestown on a global scale.
