Bill Clinton Says Obama Must 'Kiss My Ass' For His Support

Obama's VP List: MSNBC Gathers Names

Not to be snarky, but just for having called Senator Clinton on her flip-flopping on illegal New York State drivers licenses in the Philadelphia debate last fall, Chris Dodd earns his place on the short list.. The exchange went like this:

"Wait a minute,'' Dodd interrupted. "No, no, no. You said yes, you thought it made sense to do it.

"No, I didn't, Chris,'' Clinton said. "But the point is, what are we going to do with all these illegal immigrants who are (driving )?''

On more respectful note, Senator Dodd does fantastic work for the state of CT, speaks fluent Spanish, and is adored high and above Joe Lieberman, which isn't hard at the moment, and is wicked smart as well. Also, another Democrat could win his Senate seat, especially this year. I could see Ned Lamont giving it another go or one of CT's members of Congress: Rosa DeLauro or John Larson. posted 06/10/2008 at 22:17:48

Kay, you have always been one of my favorites, and tonight you outshine us all. Thank you for this brilliant insight. I've not seen or heard anyone else propose this on-target historical assessment of Bill Clinton's one-candidate-only unique electability strategy.

You deserve your own HuffPo blog column after this ... or at least a regular op-ed slot at The New York Times.

Thank you for being a bright light of reliable reasonableness and drama-less commentary during this 18-month primary season. posted 06/06/2008 at 21:43:56

How The Last Clinton Power Play Failed, And What It Means For Obama

Many have held back truly celebrating Senator Obama's ground-breaking primary victory while we wait, bizarrely, for Senator Clinton's permission to do so.

As difficult as these days since Tuesday have been for Senator Clinton's and former President Clinton's supporters, the supporters of Senator Obama feel they have been "allowed" only half a celebration.

Flip the situation. Can it even be imagined that Senator Obama would hold a victory rally in a room cut-off from outside communication on Tuesday night and would hold off endorsing Senator Clinton for 5 days, having his surrogates claim that he needed "time" to process the outcome?

Has this set a precedent that when Senator Obama wins the Presidency in November, Senator McCain will need "time" to process his defeat before he concedes?

The loss of respect and admiration I used to hold for former President Clinton and for Senator Clinton is, for me, the saddest result of their primary race strategy. posted 06/06/2008 at 13:13:37

Clinton Compares Herself To Rocky Balboa: We "Have A Lot In Common"

No, sadly, even tragically, Senator Clinton is following the exact same trajectory not of Rocky Balboa but of Heather Mills McCartney.

It 's as if these two women are determined to tarnish, and even eliminate, any good will either had engendered in the past, even if it means running headlong over any available precipice while still proclaiming they are the winners of their own fantasy scenarios. posted 04/01/2008 at 12:26:04

Hillary Clinton Deluged With Calls For Her Withdrawal

Senator Clinton and former President Clinton have lost. They can't overtake Senator Obama. So, one has to wonder if the reason they are staying in the race is because they promised significant favors to contributors to the former President's library.

Senator Clinton's insistence that she stay in the race until a fight on the convention floor for FL and MI delegates runs parallel to, and is uncomfortably similar to, Heather McCartney's renewed energy in wanting to appeal her recent divorce settlement. Both ladies, and their surrogates, do not seem to understand the words: "It's over." posted 03/30/2008 at 13:52:39

Clinton Campaign Manager Was Director For Failed Subprime Lender

Senator and Mrs. Obama were paying off college and law school LOANS for most of their tax years. One has little left over for charitable donations while accomplishing that, which is a huge success in itself, to pay off the college loans for two people.

Ask kids today what kind of debt they are leaving college and law school with, and they'll tell you it's even harder today to rationalize the choice to focus on legal work that benefits communities or is in the academic field and turn down much better paying jobs in big corporate law firms that would help one pay off college loans faster. posted 03/30/2008 at 17:50:03

Reuters: "Somebody Forgot To Tell Hillary Clinton The Democratic Presidential Race Is Over And Barack Obama Won"

How will she ever be able to hold her head up high in the Senate when they return from vacation next week? It should be a c-span pay-for-view: watching the Senators either greet her or avoid her.

Senator Clinton fails to understand America when she says that her scorched earth kitchen sink strategies and the surrogates' responses back and forth are good for America and what America is all about.

No, what America is all about is getting up in the morning and getting your kids off to school and going to work. Hillary's America is about a repetitive pattern of a drama a day and a created reality where it is an America that is all about her and her husband.

The sad thing is that she could have been appointed to the Supreme Court by a President Obama. If she doesn't win the nomination, she'll never be re-elected her NY Senate seat. Guess she can have some more books ghostwritten that'll bring in the $, but her chance at being a graceful leader has passed her by. And the sad thing is that it's all her own fault. Makes one wonder how she and the former President became burdened the self-destructive gene. posted 03/27/2008 at 19:36:32

AP: Why Wasn't The Truth Good Enough For Hillary?

Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. posted 03/26/2008 at 11:48:22
One more time: if Senator Clinton had Senator Obama's leading numbers in states won, pledged delegates, and popular vote, and if Senator Obama had her numbers, with the same unrealistic chance of becoming the front runner, Senator Clinton and the former President and the Democratic leadership would have been pressuring Senator Obama to drop out of the race weeks ago for the sake of party unity.

The argument of Senator Clinton being held to a higher standard works only if one accepts that the higher standard is that she gets a free pass to continue this fight whereas Senator Obama, or any of the other previous candidates, if given her numbers and chances, would have been asked to step down immediately. posted 03/26/2008 at 11:46:45

Clinton: Wright "Would Not Have Been My Pastor"

Senator Clinton"s eagerness to take another swing at the Wright issue is just another example of the Clintons' oh-so-over 1990s politics and strategies. No wonder Richardson endorsed Obama. All that Senator Clinton has reminded Americans of today are that these campaign tactics bring on a severe case of Clinton fatigue and a bout of snickering at how gullible the Clintons actually continue to dare to think Americans are.

Americans have enough problems putting gas in their cars, worrying about military family members, watching the value of their homes plummet, and worrying they'll be laid off from work. We really don't have the time or the energy at this stage of American history to download Clinton Obfuscation and Family Drama Dynamics 2.0.

And if Senator Clinton continues to be determined to have Americans believe she was co-president during President Clinton's two terms, doesn't that mean she, too, is disqualified from a third term in office? posted 03/25/2008 at 15:53:54
