Why John Edwards Endorsed Obama Today

My theory on why John Edwards endorsed yesterday:

1) He wanted to endorse Hillary Clinton before the NC primary but pols showed he didn't have much clout in his own state so as not to embarrass himself, he stayed quiet as he knew she would lose.

2) He is an opportunist, just like Barack Obama. His last opportunity to use his power and influence before the train left the station was yesterday and he wanted to get maximum media attention for his move. I doubt for a moment that his heart is with Barack Obama but don't doubt that he's looking out for a place in Obama's administration, should he get elected.

Hillary Agonistes: Why Doesn't She Concede?

Hillary won't concede because people voting for her are fighters for what they believe in - her right to have all the votes counted!

And no matter how much the DNC or media tries to talk up her wanting to be VP, you can't bet its a pile of BS. Barack cannot win without her but what's in it for her other than to be used by the party, which she won't allow. Why would she even consider being stuck in an unimportant job like VP for 8 years just to please those who have so abused her during this process. If the media and sites like this are making fun of her wrinkles, fat ankles and haggard looks at age 60, what in hell do you think they'd be saying about her at age 68!

Sorry, its this year or 2012 but no later than that. Get over this VP crap .... let Barack stand on his own two feet if he gets the nomination.
Sincerely,
A Reagan Democrat that you'll need in the fall. posted 05/14/2008 at 17:11:48

Big Rewards Await Clinton If She Ends Campaign Now

You need to be better informed.

Bill Clinton was paid $200K as president and the market dictates the speaking engagement fee as well as the sale of books. And I agree, 200K or 400K IS a lot to many of of us posted 05/07/2008 at 21:51:20
Carly, do you ever read what you write? In talking about the Clinton's your say:

"Neither do lawyers, and there's no married couple that struggles financially through life like TWO lawyers married to each other. Poor things! I say we take up a collection. Oh darn. Too late?"

Stupid is as stupid says ..... both lawyers married to each other ... would that be the Obama's?????

I, too, am trying not to laugh out loud! posted 05/07/2008 at 21:43:49
Comments on this site are laughable. Can you imagine Hillary whoring for money, especially from Obama. Money has never been important to the Clintons ... they lived on little or nothing for years and years and only the last 7 years have made money, the old fashioned way. They earned it! by writing books (remind you of anyone ...BHO???) and as every president before him, being paid to make speeches. You all should be so lucky and as gifted as President Clinton!

As a Reagan Democrat I will tell you right now that having Hillary as Barack's VP will not get my vote. The liberal Dems have dangled every carrot in front of her from being senate majority leader to governor of NY and now wanting her to be his VP in order to bring her votes over to him. It not only won't work but she's smart enough to say "HELL NO", let the left wing swing in the wind. posted 05/07/2008 at 21:20:44

Another "The Hillary I Know"

I'm sorry to tell the Obama people that the middle class, low income, rednecks and old people have been there done that. I wish I were more impressed with the lofty speeches, American flags, throngs of screaming young-ins, and pep fest chants presented as a new beginning in Washington were the answer to my prayers. At one time back in the day I'm sure I would have been one of his admirers but this country is in trouble, spelled with a capital "T" and I know loftiness, chants and large crowds before American flags will not produce the results promised.

Barack Obama may be able to get the nomination with this new (old) message of hope, and "Yes We Can", but the real fight is just beginning. John McCain is old, gray and looks feeble, but peek behind his curtain (the Republican political machine) and he'll probably be the next POTUS .... any doubt, ask yourself how GWB got elected TWICE! Barack had better appeal to more than the crowd he's currently winning over. His supporters who are insulting the likes of people like me who support Hillary are not helping him win in the GE. posted 05/08/2008 at 22:54:59

Obama Struggles With Working Class Whites, Dems Emotionally Divided

"The headline should read: Obama struggles with rednecks!"

OMG! Why would Obama or his supporters label voters "rednecks" or mosty older (over 40) ignorant and dumb and yet still expect that percentage of the population to vote for him! Talk about insulting the very group of people he needs the most.

I think young people don't get it that the older folks have been through many elections and have experienced their candidate being beaten (Gary Hart, Al Gore, John Kerry to name a few) - yes it hurts terribly but actual hatred towards the challengers was mostly missing from the narrative. That isn't the case this time. The media and left wing of the democrat party actually hates Hillary. Its time for the older ingorant and dumb, as well as rednecks to teach the Obama people a lesson. Trust me, its coming your way, so get the crying towels ready. posted 05/07/2008 at 11:59:41

New York Times, MSNBC Team Up For Special Primary Edition

I'm delighted MSNBC is trying to lean more towards the middle by giving John Harwood his own show. We will learn very quickly the direction of the show by the guests booked on it. Because of the bias for Obama by the network in general, if the bias keeps up with the newer shows like John's, viewers like me will be gone in a heartbeat.

I boycott Matthews, Olberman and Joe & Mika (and Shuster & Andria Mitchell whenever they are on a program) because of their bias against my candidate. They wouldn't giver her credit for anything even if their life depended upon it. They have no creditability, in my mind.

David Gregory's show was interesting in the beginning but I'm starting to tire of it also. Not because of the format but because of the guests (shrill Rachel Maddow, slurpy Eugene Robinson and that yucky Ed Schultz guy ..all Obama lovers). I personally would like to see more female guests and less black and white male guests .... the balance is off but it seems the networks are afraid to rock the boat. Aren't females the majority in this nation????? Oh that"s right, I forgot, they aren"t to be taken seriously. posted 05/06/2008 at 12:54:27

On an Obama/Clinton Ticket: A Response to Andrew Sullivan

Hillary Clinton should say Hell No! if Barack Obama gets the nomination, and it looks likely, because of the hate and disrepect his supporters (with his approval) have shown her during this campaign she would be blamed for every loss and bad thing that happened during the campaign.

Obama needs to stand on his own two feet, without leaning on Hillary during tough times. And as far as Jim Webb ... wonderful senator but he wouldn't be told what to do by an Obama ... who lacks the cojones to lead the military - remember these are tough boys and girls. posted 05/06/2008 at 13:17:29

TV SoundOff: Sunday Talking Heads

the first question from the audience w/hillary was great. she put hillary in her place. HA!

The first questioner certainy showed her ignorance, not only of the setting (national TV audience) but her disrepect for the guest by addressing her as "Hillary". Notice how those who followed stuck to excellent hard hitting questions and presence of mind to address her as senator, her official title. It showed a level of maturity and respect that was lacking in the first questioner.

Also, Miss "first questioner" looked like a small minded boob who was put up to the challenge of asking a question written by someone else. I think the TV audience put the questioner in her place in their minds. posted 05/04/2008 at 13:16:43

Olbermann: Clinton's O'Reilly Appearance "Pathetic And Revelatory"

Keith reeks of jealousy! Hillary performed beautifully on the O'Reilly Factor. Being the strong highly intelligent person she is, she was actually able to debate rather than having to put up with left wing insults from the likes of MSNBC folk. Comments like those posted on this blog are the very reason I boycott Dkos and MSNBC - too far left for me, which is sad because I was always interested in what they had to say, up to the time the Hillary bashing began, and in the words of Obama "that did it for me"!

And to make matters even worse, recently I've been watching FOX (BillO & S&C) in order to hear some balance in the coverage - it"s taken me years to make this change but I'm rather enjoying listening to some reasonable coverage about Hillary. posted 05/03/2008 at 11:37:00

I won't waste my time reading the previous posts because I'm sure they're 90% in favor of Obama. Sorry to say, being a Dem as long as I have, I now need to watch FOX TV in order to get a fair and balanced perspective on this campaign. Last night I watched Hillary's tit-for-tat with Bill O and I must say, I enjoyed it tremendously. Obama's Reverend Wright Press Conference (VIDEO)

Are you as astonished as I am how the MSM is spinning this story? Words like true pain on his face and in his gestures - strong, forceful, appalling, destructive, outrage! I saw true pain on his face but only because his handlers told him he needed to get out before the camera's to explain himself and not because he was truly angry about what the Rev said about him (because its true.... Obama says what he needs to say to get elected).

I watched the entire presser yesterday and wanted to get right into the TV and give the guy a good kick in the ass in order for him to spit out what was being weighed and measured in his mind. The whole episode was made for TV (flags & all). His delivery was slow as a turtle because you could tell he was delivering his message so as not to offend as few blacks, whites and reverends as need be. The man is a genius politician, right down to throwing whoever he needs to under the bus (grandmother, the Rev) in order to get the nomination. If these are the qualities put forth by the dems, McCain will cream him in one snarky remark. Obama needs free TV time whenever he takes a hit - soon the opposing sides will have something to say about that. posted 04/30/2008 at 16:37:54

Hillary Clinton Slams MoveOn With Karl Rove's Lies

As an "ex" long term member of moveon, I can say they have truly moved on - but not in a good way. What began as a progressive group and message is now a radical left wing group and message. Only three million members after almost 10 years worth of advertising and headlines is not progress according to my calculations ... its far too radical. The left is destroying the party by their hatred, much like what the right did for the republicans.

Barack is an inspiring but weak candidate, who only now is being examined. Its basically been big rallies in front of flags galore and college innocents for him but the press is not allowed to or won't ask questions of him. He brings the young and educated out of the woodwork but those same people aren't the one's who show up for work once the election is over. Its easy for them to work from their keyboard and expect the moveon's of their world to do the heavy lifting once their candidate is nominated. posted 04/19/2008 at 11:21:29

Only the Hillary Clinton supporters are supporting her nomination. This site, MSNBC, the media and press are hammering away at her to get the hell out! The only reason she's still standing is because she's so damned strong - not at all like Obama. Hillary is a centrist .... we learned long ago its not "my road or the highway". Hannity Spoonfed Left-Field Debate Question To Stephanopoulos

YOWZER! What a bunch of cry babies the Obamanites and their supporters are. To see and hear comments from the media this morning you would have thought SHE (and Charlie & George) crusified their savior. This was by far the best debate so far as information that was previously off-limits for Obama was finally brought into the light. These simple questions were an example of what the menominee will face this fall and Clinton not only handled her part beautifully but hit hard on the return. Obama looked flustered, muttered, and tried but failed to change the subject to his stump talking points. And if you think for one moment that FOX news will not play a part in the debate this fall, think again.

It looks to me like the liberals want only those who are in the tank for Obama (this post, dkos, MSNBC) to be moderators or commentators so their candidate wins looking like a rock star. Sorry folks, but he's playing with the big boys (and girls) and should be able to hold his own without help from the media.

After watching this fiasco for months its plain to see that the debates this fall will feature the one and only "Barack OBAMA" vs John McCain - the proud to be an American and tell it like it is candidate. The money is backing McCain, even though the far right hates him, but Wall Street and military men talk, while Obama walks. posted 04/17/2008 at 10:38:34

After pictures of him in a ten-gallon hat (stupid look on his face) and you now add the drink and gun to it, now that's funny! Tim Russert Nails Hillary Clinton Over Bosnia Trip Falsehoods

Tim Russert's ratings are going in the wrong direction, much like MSNBC, DailyKos and Talkingpointsmemo. The reason is they're pissing off half their audience because of the Obama worshipping blather heard on a daily basis. Many of us boycott these programs in favor of talkleft, mydd, taylormarsh, dailyhowler and a few other more balanced sites where we get our news and opinions.

The latest talking points heard on other networks lately and I guess from Russert's program today is "Barack should give a speech on it". Like the poor little guy got another owwii and feels he needs to help us common folk understand how much it hurts him. "Please, I need another 30 minutes of free publicity on all the networks because I feel I'm entitled to it."

If Obama was such a great candidate why is he outspending Hillary 3-1, getting 80% more favorable publicity and yet she's not only still standing but she's about to win a few more big old "small town" states posted 04/13/2008 at 12:43:13

Michelle Obama: "I'm A Big Fan Of Accessories. I'm Married To One"

Michelle Obama loves to tell you how she came up the hard way. Yes, to a point. The day her husband announced his candidacy for president her salary doubled. In fact, a couple of books, a speech or two and suddendly the college loans were paid off and the moving trucks were summoned for the big house. Two years later and they're now millionaires. Not bad, I'd say. I personally say she thinks its funny when she dismisses Barack as somewhat less than a man with her snarky remarks. Chris Matthews' Explosive Profile: Forced To Apologize To Clinton, Wants To Be Russert, Afraid Of Being Kidnapped

That makes two of us who stopped watching MSNBC, except for David Gregory at the moment. That too could go by the wayside if he starts hammering away at Hillary day in and day out. I'm angry at what happened to MSNBC - I was a devoted viewer from the start but the past 6 weeks I had to say enough is enough. No more until I read on the blogs Matthews, Olberman, Mitchell, Scarabough, Russert and other undesirables have been fired.

Oh I take that back, I happened by mistake to drop in while Andrea Mitchell was muttering away this morning. That old hag is past her shelf life - she stumbles and bumbles her way through a sentence as though she's never been before a camera before. Listening just for a moment, I could tell where she was heading by the way she was trying to form her thoughts (bagging Hillary), but it was so disconnected from the conversation it made her look like an old crow unable to get whatever it was out of her craw. Good thing 50% of the dems are tuning you and your blogs out - even dkos is changing their tune (toning it down) from the what I'm reading on the blogs. I personally quit giving him my usual 20 hits a day - its been zero for the past month and I doubt I'll ever log into his site again - I feel towards that blog much like I do towards MSNBC - I absolutely can't stand the sight of anyone at that network and doubt I'll ever watch much of what they're trying to sell ever again.

Hillary Clinton Tax Returns: See Full Details

Bill and Hillary make $109M in 7 years! Phoenix newspaper headlines yesterday: John and Cindy McCain worth $100M. Michelle Obama's salary doubled the week Barack announced he was running for president . I won the lottery. SO WHAT!

Furthermore, not one candidate can go before the people and claim they're from the middle class so shut the hell up because its none of your fricken business what the candidates earned, unless its been done illegally, and of course only the Clinton's will be accused of that. Go out and do something good for someone you know who is less fortunate .... its much more rewarding than snooping into someone's tax returns. posted 04/04/2008 at 20:20:42

Clinton-Backer Nutter: Media Covers Race With "Double Standard"

WRONG! The flood gates for blacks voting for Obama began the day they thought he could win, and now from the looks of it (91% black) they think he can't lose. But what is so sad about it is Barack Obama is running away from his blackness but they haven't noticed yet. The Obama people are so shrewed in keeping the focus on Hillary's attacks against his race (a total lie) and the media loving every minute because Hillary makes news, Obama doesn't. His skill is his speeches and attraction to college crowds and that wears like a bad haircut after a few listens.

Please tell me something, ANYTHING, that Barack Obama has done for blacks, other than give a damn good speech.

CNN today is presenting an 8 hour commercial for Obama in memory of Martin Luther King's death but Mr. Obama isn't even in Tennessee!. However, 91% of the callers into the black radio station being featured say "When Barack or "he" becomes president"... yada yada yada. There should be a law against this kind of free publicity.

Blacks weren't the only ones putting their lives on the line for the black cause during these horrible times. I had two white friends who risked their lives and future on the same causes with MLK. When Barack Obama can show or tell me what he's actually done for blacks to make their lives better, I'll begin to listen. posted 04/04/2008 at 16:18:15

Clinton Says Obama Wants to Stop Votes

On the one hand I would like to see Clinton/Obama on the ticket but if Hillary becomes the nominee, I'd also like to see her pick a person like Jim Webb as her VP - smart, military, up and coming senator from VA. This would certainly challenge John McCain's profile in courage platform he's running on. Of course Obama could make the same choice but I think it would make him look weaker as a man than he already appears .... maybe his wife Michelle should be the candidate instead as she's one strong tough lady.

The blacks have already turned their backs on the Clintons (90% for Obama but its not about race, and the Republicans have done so much for them over the years, HA!) so you ask, how much more angry can they get if she becomes the nominee and doesn't pick Obama. Just ask Rev Wright. posted 04/01/2008 at 14:55:06
Have you noticed how the conversation has changed to "Hillary has every right to stay in the race", especially since the poll came out showing Hillary's supporters wouldn't vote for Obama (28%). Mind you, her supporters are people who have been voting for many years and are not easily impressed with speeches, voice and looks. If they say they'll abandon the party, believe me they will .... I'm one of them. Obama needs her as VP in order to win but she doesn't need him and should JUST SAY NO! As far as Senate Majority Leader - she has that sewn up but again, JUST SAY NO! If she doesn't win this nomination she will run for Gov of New York and win. Washington will be nothing but a stepping stone in her journey to make a change in this country. And she should say "HELL NO TO 2012"! posted 04/01/2008 at 13:00:06

Another Bill Clinton Moment On The Campaign Trail

Its amazing how the Obama lovers love to hate the Clintons. And it will be more amazing in November when their candidate will not become POTUS. Of course we all know that once again it will be because the Clinton's have destroyed America, according to the Obama worshippers.

As a white haired old American, you kids have a lot to learn about whites, blacks, gender, wisdom and experience and who to trust when hunkered down in a bunker with hatred spewing all around you. The adults will make the final choice in November of who to trust and it won't be your candidate regardless of how many flags and retired military he likes to stand before.

More importantly, MSNBC, DailyKos, Huffpost and sometimes TPM are losing their luster because their hatred of Hillary has caused more divisiness in the democratic party than anything I can remember in my lifetime of politics. I find myself tapping into these sites less and less but I'm filling the void with more grown up sites like talkleft and mydd, which is like a breath of fresh air.... you may want to check them out to give yourself a new perspective on the importance of respect for a person on the same side of the aisle. posted 03/22/2008 at 16:13:46
