THE 2000 CAMPAIGN: THE TEXAS GOVERNOR; Bush Would Use Power of Persuasion to Raise Oil Supply
By KATHARINE Q. SEELYE
Gov. George W. Bush of Texas said today that if he was president, he would bring down gasoline prices through sheer force of personality, by creating enough political good will with oil-producing nations that they would increase their supply of crude.

''I would work with our friends in OPEC to convince them to open up the spigot, to increase the supply,'' Mr. Bush, the presumptive Republican candidate for president, told reporters here today. ''Use the capital that my administration will earn, with the Kuwaitis or the Saudis, and convince them to open up the spigot.''

Implicit in his comments was a criticism of the Clinton administration as failing to take advantage of the good will that the United States built with Kuwait and Saudi Arabia during the Persian Gulf war in 1991. Also implicit was that as the son of the president who built the coalition that drove the Iraqis out of Kuwait, Mr. Bush would be able to establish ties on a personal level that would persuade oil-producing nations that they owed the United States something in return.

''Ours is a nation that helped Kuwait and the Saudis, and you'd think we'd have the capital necessary to convince them to increase the crude supplies,''

He went on to suggest, as he did in answer to other questions, that voters should simply trust him. posted 05/16/2008 at 14:18:28

If you have a 15 gallon tank this tax holiday will save you 2.70 that is not even enough to buy a gallon of milk. And of course with gas prices currently spike over .25 in the last two weeks, who is to say the oil companies won't just keep on raising the price? Meanwhile the money that is collected goes to the highways bridges and tunnels etc. So take away funds for that and now you have less to repair a system that is already falling apart. U.S. Colonel Killed in Iraq -- On a Treadmill in the Green Zone

Of course you say this because you have worn the uniform and did your duty in Iraq correct? Because if you didn't ,beside other things that others might call you I would say that coward chickenhawk comes to mind. For what its worth I'm a moderate US Army veteran with three kids on duty in the Army , two who have pulled tours in Iraq one wounded and by the way they along with everyone in their units think pretty much the same thing Bush and his war in Iraq is total bullshit just like all those who support him and his war. So please take your apple pie and your made in China flag and shove it, fake patriots are as bad as the traitor who now sits in the white House. posted 04/11/2008 at 11:50:11
iCasualties.org is the one site where daily information is given on what is going on in Iraq, it also keeps current count of the dead and wounded and how, where, what happened. It is a one stop site to get all information on both conflicts. Well someone or something who do not want the public to know whats going on has attacked the site. It started the day before the hearings. The question must be asked who does not want the public to be informed? Gee I wonder.... posted 04/11/2008 at 07:47:15

Bush: General Petraeus "Will Have All The Time He Needs"

"and that more sacrifices will be demanded of Americans "for some time to come" Which means the sacrifices of those who wear the uniform and their families and friends. For the rest of America continue to shop and keep those yellow ribbons on your cars in support of those who are really making sacrifices. Of course your rich people will continue to enjoy your tax breaks because its the American way.

I wish for Bush/Cheney and the Neocons to go through the same that he has put our military and their families through. Man do I hate these pricks.... posted 04/10/2008 at 17:21:07

Poll: Clinton/Obama "Dream Ticket" Would Get Clobbered By McCain/Condi in N.Y.

During the summer of 2001, Rice met with CIA Director George Tenet on an almost daily basis to discuss the possibilities and prevention of terrorist attacks on American targets. Notably, on July 10, 2001, Rice met with Tenet in what he referred to as an "emergency meeting" held at the White House at Tenet's request to brief Rice and the NSC staff about the potential threat of an al Qaeda attack. Rice responded by asking Tenet to give a presentation on the matter to Secretary Rumsfeld and Attorney General John Ashcroft.

When asked about the meeting in 2006, Rice asserted she did not recall the specific meeting, commenting that she had met repeatedly with Tenet that summer about terrorist threats. Moreover, she stated that it was "incomprehensible" to her that she ignored terrorist threats two months before the September 11 attacks.

Rice was an outspoken proponent of the 2003 invasion of Iraq. After Iraq delivered its declaration of weapons of mass destruction to the United Nations on December 8, 2002....

I once again call on you keyboard generals who are pro war, pro Bush, who talk nothing but shit to take your sorry ass down and sign up ask for Iraq and show the rest of us that you have the balls to put your money where your mouth is. This is from someone who is a vet, who has had family and friends there and who will have more family there in a couple of days. 4027 have died that did not have to. Govt Predicts Gas Could Hit $4 Per Gallon This Summer

THE 2000 CAMPAIGN: THE TEXAS GOVERNOR; Bush Would Use Power of Persuasion to Raise Oil Supply

Gov.

He went on to suggest, as he did in answer to other questions, that voters should simply trust him.

The Biofuel Boom

Bio fuel, yea right all its doing is to help drive food prices up and its no better than regular fuel. Think about it if Bush thinks its good it must be bad. Hydrogen seems to be the way to go all is needed is water and electricity to make it and the by-product is clean water. It won't hurt the enviroment, food won't go in the tank and so on. posted 04/05/2008 at 08:13:06
