I give good love
I'll buy your clothes
I'll cook your dinner too
Soon as I get home from work
I'll pay your rent
Your faithful lover
Soon as I get home, soon as I get home from work

~Baby Face

Some years ago I was in a long-term relationship with a man that loved Baby Face. In fact, we saw him in concert the day Michael Jackson died. This day is crystal clear because I was recovering from major surgery. I was unable to drive or get around on my own. My circle of sister friends brought me food and came to visit. But it was my man that took care of me during this time. He drove me around, helped me shower, washed the car, gave me my medicine, took care of Maximus and stayed with me while I recovered for about six weeks. I felt incredibly loved and cared for during this time.

Not everyone is able to acknowledge that they have been fortunate to have good partners in their life. Every relationship has its challenges because no one is perfect. However, I can truly say the ones I had showed that they loved and cared for me in many ways.

We all desire love in our lives. It is said that love makes the world go round so we're always going to seek it out. There are tons of books, magazines, and blogs that focus on finding love and how to maintain love. Most of it focuses on how each person interacts in a relationship, but the reality is that it's really about how the other person acts towards you. Love is a verb. How does your partner show that he loves and cares about you? What things does she do that are indicative that she is the person for you?

In Part 1, there were 6 signs to look for when a person cares for you. Below are the remaining clues:

YOUR BIGGEST FAN

A partner will be your biggest supporter in the good times and fight for you during adversity. They won't allow anyone to speak negatively about you or do anything to harm you. If need be they will lie down their life for you. Now that's love!

ENJOYS TALKING ABOUT MEMORIES

Couples that are able to talk about their past, relive their positive and negative moments, have healthier relationships. These shared memories allow them to reflect on the past and focus on creating more loving memories for the future. When your partner reminds you of a positive experience that you've shared together it suggests that you play an important role in their life and they value these times.

LOOKS AT YOU

Whether its looking at you when you're talking, gazing into your eyes flirtatiously, or sneaking a peak when least expected, a person that looks at you, shows that he or she cares deeply for you. We don't always need verbal cues to tell us that someone loves us.

TRUSTS YOU

When you're partner truly cares about you, they will give you the benefit of the doubt. They don't have to know where their mate is at all the times, question them about their whereabouts or check their cell phones or emails. This level of trust indicates that they really care about each other.

ASKS ABOUT YOUR DAY

It's easy to get caught up in what's happening in our lives, but a partner that takes time to ask about your day and really listen, cares about what's going on with you. This level of communication shows that they care about the ups and downs of your day. They appreciate that your boss is crazy or that your assistant is incompetent and allow you to vent without saying a word. After you're finished, they'll hug and kiss the day away so that you can relax and spend quality time together.

WANTS TO HELP YOU

There are times when we all need help and sometimes need to be taken care of. We can't do it all alone. If your partner is sick, he'll make sure you have soup, juice, medication and anything else you may need. Similarly, if he has a big project and he needs to eat, she'll make sure there's a meal prepared so he can keep up his strength and quiet so he gets it done.

At the end of the day these aren't all of the signs that a person truly loves and cares about you, but they can act as a barometer to assess where you are in your relationship. Feel free to use them as a guide to determine whether you are loving your partner to the fullest.
