Singer Uses Her Eurovision Bid to Call For Peace in Ukraine

A young Ukrainian singer is directing her newest single at Vladimir Putin. Diana Mess, who lives in the UK, calls on the Russian president to end his military engagement in her home country in a single called "World Support Ukraine." It's already getting a lot of love online, and Mess hopes it will be selected to represent the UK in the upcoming Eurovision song contest.

Read More: Putin Is A Trump Fan & More Fun Facts From His Annual News MarathonUploaded at the end of last week, the song has been shared and viewed by at least 150,000 people, largely on YouTube, Facebook, iTunes and Vkontakte, Russia's most popular social network.

"I do not want glory or fame," she wrote in a Facebook post, just to end the war. According to the Mess, all the profits from sales of the song on iTunes will be donated to the Ukraine Aid fund for treatment of wounded victims of war.

While Mess has high hopes that her song will be chosen to represent the UK in the upcoming Eurovision in Sweden, this year's competition is going to be particularly tough. Due to the UK's disappointing performances in recent Eurovision competitions, Britain is launching its "biggest song search ever this year.

This song comes at a particularly tense time in Russia-Ukraine relations, as earlier this week, president Putin admitted that Russian military intelligence officers were operating in Ukraine, particularly in the eastern regions of the country.
