With the temperature racing into the nineties this week, we turned to some of our favorite chefs around the city -- such as Eleven Madison's Daniel Humm and Prune's Gabrielle Hamilton -- and asked them to share their wisdom on the lightest of meals: the summer salad. Featuring everything from snap peas to cherry tomatoes to string beans, each salad will be fresh, green, and delicious. Check back every day this week to discover a new recipe that you can use however you please. Maybe it's a garden lunch, or perhaps it's a country dinner party, or maybe it's just a healthy bite to enjoy on a leisurely summer afternoon.
