The Ocean is Burning

What's Your Reaction:

Why do we wait until the ocean is burning?

Why do we wait until the mountain tops are removed?

Why do we wait until the big fish are gone?

Why do we wait until the big cats are hanging on?

Why do we wait until the old growth is new?

Why do we wait until the waters are poisoned?

Why do we wait until the seas are plastic?

Why do we wait until the ocean is burning?

I think there's much more to it than just the psychology of crisis. A LOT of money is spent to keep us where we are, by those who benefit the most from the status quo. We've had viable, off the shelf, alternatives to oil consuming vehicles and oil consuming single-use plastic for decades.

Because not much matters until we are in a crisis... we must have a crisis in order for ordinary people to pay attention, and the news and main stream media won't report it unless it gets ratings!! This is sad to say, but I believe the younger generation of kids in high school and college right now are a lot smarter than us older (supposedly wiser), folks give them credit for. I believe a Real Change is going to come soon!!!

On NPR an expert said that setting the slick ablaze will only remove 3% of the oil from the water.
