Name a political issue messing up your life, and I can almost guarantee that the nasty chemistry between big money and electeds started the fire.

"Until we make it so candidates don't have to rely on wealthy donors...we will never be free of political scandals and corruption."
---Public Campaign, 2009 Fair Elections Now Toolkit

Name a political issue messing up your life, and I can almost guarantee that the nasty chemistry between big money and electeds started the fire.

It's impossible to eliminate money from politics, and there's no reason to. But
release candidates from huge campaign contributors and the special favors
that follow victory, and you'll see miracles after every election. The vast majority of
winners in states and cities that have adopted this Fair Elections/Clean Money
structure, used it to win. They're glad to work for the voters; the voters know their interests are being represented.

Now Californians can bring this system to our state. In less than three months,
we'll vote on Proposition 15, the California Fair Elections Act (CFEA). LA's Kickoff campaign event is this Thursday night, March 11.

Attendees will learn about Prop 15 and what they can do to help it pass. They'll hear from
the brave State Senator who wouldn't quit until both houses in Sacramento approved her bill, and the governor signed it into law (yes he did!). Other state and local electeds will talk about how Prop 15 will help them serve the voters and themselves better. And there will be food and entertainment.

The Yes on Proposition 15 LA Kickoff starts at 7 p.m., at Leo Baeck Temple, 1300 N. Sepulveda Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90049.

This event is not for supporters only. Anyone can attend, even if they just want to learn more. For information, contact www.yesfairelections.org.
