Don't wait until an emergency arises--pets should visit the vet once a year to make sure they are healthy and up to date on their vaccinations

Follow these simple steps to select the best vet for you and yours.

Check References:

Fellow pet owners are the best source when checking out a new vet, but many organizations keep records on clinics. The American Veterinary Medical Association (www.avma.org) lists licensed hospitals in your area, and you should also check with your state Veterinary Medical Board or the Better Business Bureau to see if any complaints have been made.

Chemistry Matters:
Bedside manner is as important to your pet as it is to you -- find a clinic that loves your animal as much as you do.

Inspect the Office:
Make an appointment without your pet to tour the potential new office. Is it clean, modern and well organized? Asking questions will not only get you answers, it will also show your vet that you care.
