McCain's South Seas Nightmare

digg Share this on Facebook Huffpost - stumble reddit del.ico.us RSS

John McCain used to fondly remember the old drinking holes from his Navy days like the "Tika Tiki Club" and "Lou's House of Booze". Now sadly, his dreams are only filled with disturbing images of sour cocktails, broken dreams and false Sirens.

Everybody is feeling for the old guy now that he delivered a strong concession speech, and though I don't want to kick a guy when he is down, I do feel he brought the nightmare upon himself.

I think he got caught up in his own ambition and little by little found he'd sold his soul to the far-right. In his concession speech we glimpsed the McCain others have had respect for, the one sorely missing in this campaign. I suspect he must be feeling a sense of relief to be out from under their thumbs, even though he has much to heal in his relationships on Capitol Hill...if he can. The man is flawed, but fortunately the country went for the highest and best ideals, not the lowest and ugliest of prejudices and fears.

My most profound feeling is that we've elected a man who is most serious about governing, and governing well. No priorities over that. We'll be well served by President Obama. Americans can regain our sense of honor as a nation.

Perhaps in time, McCain can regain his sense of honor, too.

I begged McCain to run for Pres. and then he did I was appalled at his behavior during this cycle
could not understand why he ran his campaign on the dark side of the force .And so I placed my self firmly
in Obama,s camp

Hope over fear!

Truth over lies

Justice over injustice !!

Peace over war!!

Love over hate !!

Humans over dollars !!!!!!!!

Stewardship over stealing !!!

Life over Death !!!!!!!!

Forgiveness over unforgiven

Earth over profit !!!!!

Wrong, not everyone is feeling for him. McCain was a guy I had admired for years as someone who was a stand up guy, rare in politics. He was also a fellow squid, being former navy myself. Would've voted for him in 2000, but what he became in this election was nothing less than des-pic-able. He squandered any currency, whether it be political, moral, honor. And, if he doesn't retire I will be part of any effort to vote him out of office.
