William Kamkwamba is author of The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind: Creating Currents of Electricity and Hope, with Bryan Mealer. He’s a student at the African Leadership Academy, a pan-African prep school in Johannesburg, South Africa. A 2007 TEDGlobal Fellow, he has been profiled in the Wall Street Journal and had the distinction of delivering an address at the 2008 World Economic Forum on Africa.

Bryan Mealer, a former Associated Press staff correspondent in the Democratic Republic of Congo, is the author of All Things Must Fight to Live: Stories of War and Deliverance in Congo. His work has appeared in Esquire and Harper’s, among several magazines. He lives in New York City.
