Miramax Leaving NYC; Battsek Leaving Miramax

Miramax is closing its New York office and president Daniel Battsek is leaving the company, according to reports this afternoon. Founded by Harvey and Bob Weinstein in New York City thirty years ago, the brothers sold the company to Disney in 1993, remaining in place as chairman and running the rapidly growing company until four years ago when Disney tapped Battsek to run the company in the wake of the Weinstein departure. —more to come—
