Why Funding Women and Girls Matters

Why Investing in Women and Girls Makes Good Business Sense.

Presentation by Christine Grumm, President and CEO of the Women's Funding Network in San Francisco, California, to participants in a seminar entitled: Smart Change- Investing in Women and Girls. The conference was held at Leopoldskron Palace, Headquarters of the Salzburg Global Seminar in Salzburg, Austria.

The Women's Funding Network was a co-sponsor of the seminar in Salzburg which brought together 60 representatives of philanthropic and donor institutions from the United States, Europe, Africa, Latin America, Asia and the Middle East. Ms Grumm has more than 30 years of experience in women's philanthropy.

In her opening address to the seminar in Salzburg she identified recent trends in philanthropy with respect to investing in women and girls and why such investment leads to progressive social and economic change.
