Her first published piece was a movie review that ran in the Santa Barbara Independent weekly newspaper, for which she received one piece of hate mail. Since then she has written about fashion, food, music, and speed dating (amongst other things) for a variety of culture magazines and websites (hate mail notwithstanding).

She has two cats named Franny and Zooey and a fondness for the parenthetical.
