Bollywood Bash at Buckingham Palace!

Posted: 03/22/11 11:37 AM ET

It seems that ballroom "Dancing with the Stars," Bollywood-style, is set to arrive at Buckingham Palace. The Press Trust India has reported that celebrated Indian choreographer and entertainer Sandip Soparrkar and his dancer wife, Jesse Randhawa, will perform for guests at the Buckingham Palace reception after the wedding. With his expertise, Soparrkar has previously been honored by Prince Charles with a letter of recognition for his efforts in promoting ballroom dancing in India.

Of course, Soparrkar is no stranger to high-profile bashes. He performed at Katy Perry and Russell Brand's wedding in India last year, and was also present at the other queen's birthday -- the Queen of Pop that is -- when he entertained at Madonna's 50th birthday celebrations in 2008. For the royal wedding guests, Soparrkar is said to be working on an eye-popping, Bollywood-meets-English waltz routine.

This is not the first time that Bollywood performers have been invited to Buckingham Palace. In October of 2009, the Queen hosted a reception and show for Britain's Indian community of writers, actors and athletes. With London being such a multi-cultural city, it's a great to see that William and Catherine will be breaking out some Bollywood dance moves at their reception!

I have never seen Bollywod ballroom dancing but I enjoy the energetic and artistic dance moves in Bollywood movies as well as the singing. Very cool. Makes me jump up and shake my tail feathers. Unfortunately I have a bad back and don't last more than a few moves. Oh well. Anyway wish I could be a fly on the wall at the royal shindig. I'm certain that it will be "brilliant" the British equivalent of "awesome" here. Ta.
