The-Dream - Love King
1 of 6
I have a beautiful, however unlikely, relationship with The-Dream. His latest (and greatest) effort, "Love King," occupies a permanent spot in my iPod's rotation: no matter where I am or what I'm doing, the sound of this album somehow always seems appealing. Though the lyrics are, conservatively speaking, often cringe-inducing (ie. "She said she had a man but I had to pursue her/He ain't never there, so she let me do her"), the mastermind producer behind Beyonce's "Single Ladies" and Rihanna's "Umbrella" is a formidable talent in his own right. Though I'm somewhat inclined to file this one under "guilty pleasure," the ear candy that is "Love King" constitutes my pick for the best pop album of the year.
