Monday

From now through May 10, the various branches of Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar are offering a small plates/big pours promotion in their bar, where you can choose from a selection of seven dishes that include lamb chops, New Bedford scallops, lobster tempura, filet mignon and seared ahi, matched with a big glass of a select group of seven notable wines, all for $24.95. As they say, "Pick a pair, any pair." (For details, visit here.)

Tuesday

Taste more than 100 wines from Northern California at Sonoma in the City at The London West Hollywood from 6-9 p.m., including vintages by Dry Creek, Hanzell, Iron Horse and Rodney Strong ($40 per person in advance, $60 at the door; go to www.sonomala.eventbrite.com.)

Wednesday

The big kahuna of weekly farmers markets is the Wednesday market in Santa Monica on Arizona Avenue. But getting some serious buzz is the newly opened farmers market at Barnsdall Art Park on the east side of Hollywood, also on Wednesdays (but from noon to 6 p.m., instead of in the morning), which replaces two former farmers markets in Hollywood. With its setting in a park, its music and crafts, this newbie is being spoken of as the next big thing in farmers markets (4800 Hollywood Blvd., 323-461-3171.)

Thursday

Head north to Paso Robles for the 20th Annual Hospice du Rhone tasting of Rhone varietals from the Central Coast and from France, served Thursday-Saturday, along with seminars and a dine-around of local restaurants. With nearly 200 wineries set to participate, this is a Rhone Rangers dream of a tasting, held at the Paso Robles Event Center (prices for the numerous events run about $100 each; visit www.hospicedurhone.org for details; 2198 Riverside Ave., Paso Robles.)

Friday

The people from Test Kitchen are back, doing a one-night boot camp run-through at Short Order of chef Keith Silverton's cooking for his upcoming MessHall Kitchen (due to open this summer at 4500 Los Feliz Blvd. in Los Feliz). Expect a four-courser including a choice of dishes like a steak tartar taco, a hog chop with white cheddar grits and Tabasco butter, and Willard's buttermilk crunch chicken with whiskey gravy. For reservations, send an e-mail to testkitchen@shortorderLA.com with your name, phone number, number in party and requested time (7 p.m.-midnight; $49 per person.)

Saturday

Experience the Art of Tequila at Mas Malo Downtown with a tasting in the restaurant's tequila vault, with dishes to match, benefitting the META Foundation, which creates scholarships for students in need (7-10 p.m., $125 per person; 213-985-4332).

Sunday

The 5X5 Chef Collaborative Dinners are back, with five meals at five top shelf restaurants, beginning tonight with Mélisse (followed by Providence, Angelini Osteria, Bouchon and Ink), with a course cooked by the chef from each of the five restaurants, plus a guest chef -- tonight's is Ludo Lefebvre (5:30 p.m., $150 per person; 310-395-0881.)
