Monday

It's all about oysters at the Santa Monica outpost of The Hungry Cat. The briny bivalves are half-priced all night long every Monday, beginning tonight. We'll drink a Muscadet to that (100 W. Channel Rd.; 310-459-3337).

Tuesday

Chaya Downtown kicks off its annual Japanese Beer Garden tonight, and will return every Monday throughout the summer. Specials -- almost all under $10 -- like yakitori skewers, garlic-fried soft shell shrimp, spicy tuna and shishito tempura, and sake, beer and cocktails are available on the patio from 4 p.m.-close (525 S. Flower St.; 213-236-9577).

Wednesday

Chefs Neal Frasher and Greg Hozinsky have added weekday lunch at The Strand House in Manhattan Beach. Enjoy prime dry-aged burgers, fish tacos, and fresh market salads to go along with that view from the pier. Tuesday through Fridays; brunch continues on the weekends (117 Manhattan Beach Blvd.; 310-545-7470).

Thursday

What goes best with Paul Thomas Anderson movies? Sausages of course. With the debut For the Record: Boogie Nights at Rockwell -- where stage and screen actors sing songs from movie soundtracks -- you can now nibble on the Big Diggler (a 10-inch frankfurter topped with mustard, ketchup, relish), the Todd Porker (sausage served with mac and cheese and bbq sauce), and the Disco Dog (house-made chicken, turkey and sun-dried tomato sausage) during the show. Weekly performances begin tonight and run Thursday through Saturday nights; the show closes August 4. Call 323-661-6163 ext. 20 for ticket information (1714 N. Vermont Ave., Los Feliz).

Friday

Summer officially begins when Silverlake Wine tastings hit Barnsdall Art Park in Hollywood. Sit on the hill next to the Hollyhock House, listen to KCRW DJs, and sip on four wines - usually a white, rose and two reds. Food trucks like Let's Be Frank, the Gastrobus and Heirloom LA will feed your belly, the sunset will feed your soul. Tickets ($25) must be purchased in advance here; food is sold separately (4800 Hollywood Blvd.).

Saturday

There's a new prix fixe brunch at Border Grill Santa Monica every Saturday and Sunday. For $29.99, select from small plates like Yucatan eggs benedict, a bacon-and-jalapeno PBJ, chorizo and egg tacos, machaca chilquiles and more. Bottomless mimosas are $6 more. Call 310-451-1655 for reservations (1445 4th St.).

Sunday

Sundays are Friends & Family night at BierBeisl. Get a special three-course menu that changes weekly, featuring Austrian dishes with a modern twist, things like assorted charcuterie and sausages, braised beef short ribs and potato grain with baby carrots and roasted corn. The price ($55 per person) includes a glass of wine or beer (9669 S. Santa Monica Blvd.; 310-271-7274).
