It can be a tough go trying to make it in the entertainment industry. But in these digital days, there are tools and platforms that allow you to surpass the gatekeepers, showcase your talents and connect directly with your audience.

Todrick Hall notably made it to the semi-finals on the ninth season of American Idol on the sole "Ellen-Degeneres-season" and campaigned online to get a role on "Glee". He now has over 1.5 million subscribers on his YouTube channel, showcasing his skills as a vocalist, actor, director and choreographer.

Known for his homages to Disney, Broadway and Urban Music, it was his Beyonce themed flash mob performed in the middle of an actual Target store which got Ms. Knowles-Carter to make a YouTube video herself, congratulating him. A couple of years later he got the chance to work with her.

This summer, Todrick is taking his act on tour, bringing his videos to life in The Toddlerz Ball.

Between tour dates, Todrick stopped in Toronto to kick off PRIDE, and shared why it was important to be there.
