The DNC is barely under way in Denver, but protesters are already making themselves heard. Their message: "Fuck corporate media!" and "Fuck FOX News!"
That's the response FOX's Griff Jenkins receives when he throws himself into a swarm of marching anti-war protesters. Jenkins plays incredulous well in this clip, considering he's there specifically "to cause trouble." He asks over and over again why the protesters don't believe in freedom of speech—the irony of ironies, since these protesters are exercising their first amendment rights with every step they take.
As Jenkins is drowned out by a "Fuck FOX News!" chorus and disappears among a sea of middle fingers flipped at the camera, he cries out, "That's just not necessary." Au contraire, Mr. Jenkins. These calls are entirely necessary, considering FOX has served as the propaganda arm of the Bush administration for the last eight years.
FOX has been Bush's biggest cheerleader in his war with Iraq. FOX joined the corporate media in drumming up support for the war, preying on a vulnerable nation by drawing the false connection between Iraq and 9/11 and touting the administration's so-called "evidence" of WMDs. Even as other corporate outlets eventually admitted they were wrong for not questioning the administration in the run up to war, FOX offered no mea culpa. Instead, the network continued to pretend the war was succeeding, when the reality was it had become a brutal quagmire that continues to this day. But FOX didn't stop with Iraq. Oh, no. For more than a year now, the network has been war-whooping over Iran as well.
FOX is guilty of war- and fearmongering, spreading the administration's lies at every turn, and smearing those who try to set the record straight. So "Fuck FOX News"? I'd say these anti-war protesters get the message just right.

What an articulate bunch. This hatred has to be driven by something. If they don't like Fox News, they shouldn't watch it. But why use expeltives and spew the vitriol?
Why do people act like Fox is some kind of news organization that happens to 'lean republican'??
these guys were seriously only put in place by billionaire rupert murdoch to be exactly what the article writer says they have been and still are.
they never had a purpose in any way to have integrity or promote independant journalism. This was a plan from the start to purposely be a republican propaganda machine of lies and fraud.
The Republicans know that they can NEVER win with the truth, this is why bush's campaigns and now mccains campaigns are complete frauds and Fox is the trained, purposeful media arm of the GOP and its billionaire backers.
Fox News isn't allowed in my house but I did see this online yesterday and couldn't contain my glee. The "fair and balanced" network got some fair and balanced jeers. They obviously can't believe that there are people who don't buy what they're selling.
Wish I could have been one of the protesters there yelling. Oh wait a minute - i do it at home all the time. Never mind.
You probably know, but most people have forgotten that FOX won as convention pool provider of video and audio streams for NBC, CBS, ABC and CNN.
It was utterly amazing last night to watch the cut away shots, the ones on faces. MOST were of people frowning or bored.
This needs urgent progressive media attention to hold them accountable.
Spread this message around.
I see that these people were rather calm, not what Fox really wanted and I think that was to get their newsman hurt. They will do anything for a story. To bad they didn't get much this time.
I will never forget the heroic Harold Rivera giving the exact location of he and the troops he was embedded with.
Too bad he and Al Capone were not alone out in that desert! Along with the vault of course!
Fox news should be ignored at every chance.
What a waste of hatred! they could hate poverty and inner city schools and lack of health care for all. Equality for all people would be a good thing they might support.
You are right though trolls, all of our news media contributed mightily to our march to war with all of the lies and shill military pundits from the White House.
The lies have continued for 8 years now.
Change!
Your comment makes me curious. Who, on Fox, has said that they love poverty or inner city schools? And who, by name, lacks health care? I'd like to give them a call and tell them that the emergency room is open near them. I can't believe anyone, in this day and age, would not know that.
Semper fi
Actually, the emergency department is probably on bypass, due to no bed space in the hospital. You don't work in a hospital I'm guessing. Have you ever gotten a bill from emergency services? I have great insurance and I still had to pay over $100 for services rendered. Have you ever been to a government subsidized emergency department? Do you know it's not unheard of to wait 12 hours in the emergency department for a bed if needed, and 6-8 hours just to see the doctor? Your health care plan is pretty sh***y.
CNN & MSNBC liberal? Have you lost it man? The Democratic strategists? You mean the ones that get shouted down by Hannity and O'Reilly?
What someone does to their own TV in their own home shouldn't concern you. Oh, but you probably belong to the current Republican school of thinking that personal lives are open season while oil corporations and pharmeceuticals are good to go on their own.
The only true unbiased news shown on regular TV in this nation is BBC News.
Look I can't stand Faux News on any sort of level but we can't pretend that they were the only ones taking part in the propoganda nonsense. I watched CNN and MSNBC almost religiously 2003 and 2004 and they were just as full of bulldung as anyone was.
FOX IS ALSO A WAR PROFITEER !!!!!!!!!!!
Their rating would not be that high without the war they supported.
That is an idiotic statement. If one news agency gains from bad news they ALL do. Blind partisanship has led you down a path of ignorance again, dadw5boys.
and GE, owner of MSNBC............hmmm, blind hate is not very attractive
Personally, I will not tolerate Faux News in my home.
My wife tried to watch it, and I offered to "Elvis" the television.
LOLOLOL!!!! I love that one!!!
yeah...all it takes is a glance and I know it's on. Almost like an oder I have to extinguish before my rage meter loses complete control.
Do handle all situations with which you disagree with the same level of maturity?
Why do so many people spew this stuff? The PEW Research Center has done studies and found FOX News to be more balanced in their reporting than CNN and MSNBC. I guess if you are used to more liberal media outlets, FOX might seem biased because they present all sides. Even Terry McAuliffe said so during the primary.
If you ever bothered to watch and see for yourself, you would perhaps notice the Democrat strategists and others they have on regularly. Or do you think that Democrats that go on or contribute to FOX News are traitors? Maybe you should go "Elvis" THEIR TV sets.
Geez.....you just gotta be kidding! Aren't ya.....pulling our leg? Hahaha......uh .......no reallly.... you aren't serious.....are ya? whoa.......dude.......
You can't see this FOX NEWS -- but I'm shooting you a bird and agreeing with these protesters!
F - U Fox News!
The propaganda outlet for the Republican party and current presidency is asking street protesters why they don't believe in freedom of speech. That's some Orwellian sh*t.
Good to see that the Dem message of bringing everyone together resonates all over the web..................
Hmmm....I wonder how the people at the RNC will treat MSNBC. I highly doubt they will resort to tasteless antics of these misguided souls at the DNC. These people are projecting their dissappointment of themselves on others. Why were there no protesters of this magnatude before the war? If they felt so strongly why did they not pressure their elected officials? Because this evil syndicate that they have manifested is a farce. They have created a scapegoat in Fox News and corporate news companies. There was no misinformation campaign. These people are more mad at themselves than anyone.
Get a grip! You forgot about the millions and millions across the world out in the streets shouting as loud as they could, not to invade/occupy Iraq? Ooops. Sorry, you probably were glued to FOX News.
Millions? lol. Where? What country? Only two countries in the United Nations were willing to use a veto vote to stop Iraq from being a U.N. action. And as far as here there were no substantial protests.
FYI, tompoe, the "world" is not your Friday night hack-e-sack club.
If you are going to troll, at least try to put up an argument that can't be ripped apart so easily. Here, you have a computer and the internet. Go to youtube and search the words "Iraq war protests 2003". Just because you were in love with the idea a disastrous war, doesn't mean there were no protests going on before the war. What a tool.
No sense letting any facts get in the way. Recent media polls have shown FOX having the most balanced audience of Dems and Repubs than the other cables news outlets. You can bleat your revisionist history all you want, but ALL the networks and cable news programs were on the same page during the run up to the war. If you remember only FOX being the lonely voice, then you were too busy reading your Grit Newspaper.
And protests? Gimme a break. The postage stamp size protests assembled in this country were a joke. There are more people at your average church bake sale.
Good grief!
And how many times did our friends at Fox announce the discovery of WMDs? Or Obama's "madrassa" or "terrorist fist bump"? Didn't they also claim that AP made up an Iraqi officer, just because his information wasn't what they wanted to hear?
Wasn't there a forged memo released to the media? If that's not misinformation, what is?
Although I can't condone the coarse language used by the protesters, it just doesn't sound the same if they were to say "violate Fox in a manner most vile"
You can bet that the RNC will not let anyone that doesn't bleed Neo-Con close to their set up.
I don't know who they were polling to give Fox anything of balance. Maybe the weather.
When you are in the middle of walkers/riders that see your news station as one of the worst there is, your are there to create problems. Fox knows that the Democrats hate Fox news so why would they put them in the middle of a crowd like this? I think they were hoping someone would haul off and belt the guy upside the head then they would get the story they want.
There were protests of much greater magnitude, unfortunately CorporateMedia didn't cover them.
JUST BECAUSE IT'S NOT ON TELEVISION, DOESN'T MEAN IT DIDN'T HAPPEN!!!
So true! Just like the good stuff that has happened in Iraq is real even if you don't see it on TV.
