Joe Biden may insist that the "press wants him in" the nomination race, but he continues to say the strangest things when he finds himself in their midst. Speaking at the PBS debate, Biden chose to cite his leadership on the issue of AIDS awareness by disclosing that he had been tested for HIV himself, "I got tested for AIDS." Nice. Unfortunately, he didn't stop there: "I know Barack got tested for AIDS. There's no shame for being tested for AIDS." Oh, dear.
Obama quickly interjected so as to put his HIV test in context. Biden followed suit, explaining that he got tested because of receiving "13 pints of blood transfusion" when he was treated for brain aneurysms. After this latest media gaffe, maybe Biden should get a checkup on those.
