Poll Alarm In Kentucky: Senate GOP Leader Looks Vulnerable

U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell's popularity has continued to slip, suggesting vulnerability in his 2008 re-election bid. But he would still defeat any of four potential Democratic challengers if the race ended today, a new poll shows.

Slightly more respondents to the Herald-Leader/Action News 36 Election Poll said they disapproved of McConnell's job performance in the U.S. Senate than those who liked what he's done. And fewer than half said they had a favorable impression of McConnell, the Senate Republican leader.
