Th-th-th-that's All Folks: Warner Bros announced that because of the WGA Strike, up to 1,000 employees would be getting WARN mailings, which are essentially notices that layoffs are eminent.

Bad Education: McGraw-Hill said it was eliminating 611 jobs, or 3% of its total workforce, to keep costs down and shareholder returns up.

Life's Not A Game: Hasbro plans to improve productivity at its Massachusetts facility -- a move that will cut 200 jobs.

Fallout Men: 63 contractors lost their jobs at Yucca Mountain, a national nuclear dump site in Nevada, after cuts were made in federal funding.

Paper Shredding: Plus, don't forget a handful of layoffs at Martha Stewart Omnimedia, the paring down of editorial jobs at the Chicago Sun-Times by 19 percent, and the elimination of 86 jobs at the Seattle Times, 17 through layoffs (primarily in the circulation department).
