Journalists love to be surprised. We live to find story angles that reek of contradictions. Every once in a while, we're lucky enough to come across something that sounds too good to be true.
That happened to me last week, when I got an email that read: "The Nation Introduces News Sex Column."
It was so startling; it might as well have arrived in 64-point type.
The Nation? A sex column? What's wrong with this picture?
I don't know about you media mavens, but I've always suspected that the liberal-leaning Nation, while producing a consistently thought-provoking product, took itself a wee bit (too) seriously publish a sex column.
I'll just come right out and say it: It blows my mind that one of America's most asexual magazines launched a sex column (and issued a press release about it, to boot).
