Chicago's Police Chief Questions War On Drugs

Chicago Police Supt. Jody Weis questioned the wisdom of America's War on Drugs and said that combating violence is a bigger priority than reducing drug traffic at a City Club of Chicago lunch Tuesday.

From Chicago Public Radio:

I hate to say it, but if you have a gang that's simply selling drugs and not killing anyone, that's not on our priority list. There are far too many that are engaged in simple violence.

"Is it really working?", Weis asked about law enforcement's approach to drugs, according to the Tribune.

Weis would not say whether he believed marijuana should be legalized.
