"Actual Job Numbers Are Likely Somewhat Worse"

Economists in financial services and in academia responded with dismay to the November employment report, released today. Here's a roundup of some of their comments and observations, many of which suggest that the numbers are even worse than they look:

* "Every time I remark to Barry Eichengreen about the disjunction between the intensity of the financial crisis and its limited transmission to the real economy, he says 'just wait.' I guess we can stop waiting." - Brad DeLong, University of California, Berkeley
