Blagojevich Gets Little Love In Serbia

Rod Blagojevich, a second-generation Serb-American, did not have a big public profile in Serbia. But the arrest of the Democratic Illinois governor merited some front-page coverage and some barbed commentary on the Web sites of Belgrade's major media outlets.

On the site of Politika, the most influential paper in the capital, and Blic, a popular tabloid, many groused about the governor as a man who forgot his roots. Others said they believed his problems were quintessentially American..
