Robert E. Diamond And Frits Seegers, Barclays Execs, Skip Davos

DAVOS, Switzerland -- Two top executives from Barclays PLC of the U.K. became the latest prominent bankers to decide against going to global capitalism's big annual conference in Switzerland, as the financial crisis takes its toll on the major finance houses.

Barclays president Robert E. Diamond, and Frits Seegers, CEO of global retail and commercial banking, pulled out of the World Economic Forum's meeting in Davos, Switzerland, at the last minute Tuesday. The five day meeting starts Wednesday.
