Hamas: Israel Torpedoing Truce Efforts

Prior to discussions between a Hamas delegation and Egyptian intelligence chief Omar Suleimen in Cairo, which a spokesman for the group described as the final round of Gaza truce talks, senior Hamas official Ali Barakei said that Israel's conditions for a cease-fire were torpedoing Egyptian efforts and would likely delay any agreement.

He said that February 5 was not a final date for a deal and that Hamas wanted more time to pressurize Israel into accepting its terms.
