Saturn, Saab, Hummer: What You Need To Know

General Motors Corp. could shed its Saturn and Hummer brands as part of its viability plan submitted to the Obama administration Tuesday. The future of its Saab brand, which GM hopes to sell, is also up in the air. That follows GM's closure of Oldsmobile several years go.

What's the upshot for consumers who own these brands, should any eventually be eliminated? To get some answers, we spoke to Philip Reed, senior consumer advice editor at, the Los Angeles-based auto-research firm.
