The CBS Evening News ran the first segment of a 3-part series last night called "Life After Debt." The series examines how rising debt is forcing Americans to work longer and putting a comfortable retirement further out of reach. A key question the first part addresses is the low savings rate in U.S.; how that it is adversely affecting Americans and why it is so important to increase it substantially. Among those interviewed in the series is the 'father of the 401(k).'
Our own Arthur Delaney, HuffPost's Economic Impact correspondent, has been chronicling the difficulties Americans are facing.
