Family and friends of the late actress/writer/director Adrienne Shelly, known best for her widely-praised indie film Waitress, attended the dedication of a park garden named in her honor today.

The memorial is in Abingdon Square Park which is, according NY1, "across the street from Shelly's office, where she was killed by a construction worker in 2006."

Shelly's widower, Andy Ostroy, is a long-time Huffington Post blogger and political analyst.
