Great Lawn Crowd Limits Necessary: Report

An independent report released Tuesday recommends a 55,000-person limit for events on the Great Lawn in Central Park -- essentially supporting the city's current regulations.

The report is the latest twist in a saga extending back to 2004 when two antiwar groups sued the city after they were denied permission to hold a demonstration on the lawn in advance of the Republican National Convention.
